Fuel Injector Cleaner

Fuel injector cleaners are tank-pour treatments built around PEA (polyetheramine) or PIBA detergents — the same chemistry refiners use to meet Top Tier gasoline standards, just at a much higher dose. They're for engines that have started idling rough, getting worse fuel economy, or throwing misfire codes after 60-80k miles on cheap gas. Run a full bottle on a near-empty tank, then drive normally until the tank's gone — the detergent needs concentration and heat to work. Don't expect a miracle on a truly fouled injector; severe carbon buildup or a failed injector needs a shop's pressurized cleaning service or a replacement, not a $15 bottle. Use a quality cleaner every 5-10k miles as maintenance, not as a cure.
