Most car-care reviews answer one question: does it work? They skip a second question that matters just as much: is it safe?

Modern detailing products contain serious chemistry — strong acids in wheel cleaners, silicone solvents in tire dressings, glycol ethers and glycol-based degreasers in interior cleaners. Some are listed under California Prop 65. Some are aquatic toxins. Many are sold without a word about what's in the bottle or what gets into your driveway.

CarCareTruth.com rates every product on two axes:

• Effectiveness — how well it actually does the job in real-world conditions.
• Health impact — what's in it, what its SDS says, what regulators have flagged, and how much that matters for the way it gets used.
