Royal Purple

Royal Purple was founded in 1986 in Porter, Texas, and built its reputation on Synerlec — a proprietary additive technology the brand claims provides higher film strength than conventional motor oils. In 2012, the company was acquired by Calumet Specialty Products (NYSE: CLMT), an Indianapolis-based specialty petroleum products company. The flagship High Performance Motor Oil line is positioned as a premium full synthetic for enthusiasts and performance-focused drivers. The brand also produces HPS (High Performance Street), HMX (High Mileage), and a range of gear and racing oils. Royal Purple carries API certification and broad OEM approval coverage for GM, Ford, and Chrysler applications.
