The manufacturer's Safety Data Sheet classifies this product with one or more GHS Category 1 health hazards — the most severe tier. The hazard statements in quotes below are the verbatim GHS language from the SDS, as required by OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard. The line under each statement translates the GHS classification into plain language.
- H318 “Causes serious eye damage.”
GHS Category 1 eye damage — classified as causing irreversible eye damage on contact.
- H350 “May cause cancer.”
GHS Category 1 carcinogenicity — classified as suspected of causing cancer with repeated or prolonged exposure.
If swallowed, inhaled, or splashed in eyes:
Call Poison Control immediately at 1-800-222-1222 (US, 24/7, free) and have the product container with you. Poison Control's standing guidance is to not induce vomiting after chemical exposure; they will direct first-aid steps based on the specific product.

From the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 8
“H318 in SDS §2 classifies serious eye damage Cat 1 — irreversible corneal injury at the mixture level. The aerosol form factor concentrates mist at face height during overhead engine-bay spraying, making the H318 exposure pathway directly applicable to the use scenario.”

From the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 8
“Pressurized aerosol creates fine mist droplets with deeper lung penetration than pump-spray products. The aerosol form factor triggers the hard lungs:required rule for this category regardless of H335 absence. CarCareTruth's Analysis
Last reviewed May 26, 2026
TL;DR Induction-system cleaner for carburetors and throttle bodies — AMSOIL's data bulletin explicitly says it is not a general engine-bay degreaser. DANGER signal word with H318 serious eye damage and H350 carcinogen classification (Cat 1B). Wear splash goggles, nitrile gloves, and a respirator.
What it is and how it performs
An 18 oz pressurized aerosol foam for induction-system cleaning — carburetors, throttle bodies, and intake passages on gasoline-engine vehicles. Spray into the intake at idle, dwell, then clear via engine operation or rinse. Amazon reviewers report resolution of idling problems and ethanol-residue buildup. The data bulletin confirms safety for fuel injectors, catalytic converters, rubber, and plastic in gasoline engines. This is a narrow RTU aerosol — no dilution, not for diesel or GDI engines, not for general engine-bay exterior degreasing.
Who should buy this — and who should skip it
The right pick for owners of carbureted or older throttle-body injection engines dealing with ethanol deposits or rough idle — and willing to gear up with respiratory and eye protection. Skip it outside induction cleaning: the manufacturer explicitly rules out diesel, GDI, and general engine-bay use. Anyone needing a multi-use aerosol for the whole engine bay should choose a purpose-built engine degreaser.
Safety and environmental impact
DANGER signal word from H318 serious eye damage (irreversible Cat-1) and H350 carcinogenicity (Cat-1B). The Prop 65 warning is chemistry-based: SDS §15 identifies a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon as the listed California carcinogen — the Amazon listing omits the badge but the SDS is authoritative. Pressurized aerosol mist penetrates airways more deeply than pump-spray; SDS §8 directs respiratory protection when ventilation is insufficient. H412 chronic aquatic toxicity from the glycol-ether solvent system and estimated high-VOC content make this a drain-destined formula with notable environmental concerns.
Frequently asked questions
Is AMSOIL Power Foam a general engine-bay degreaser?▾
No. The manufacturer data bulletin explicitly states: 'Power Foam is not recommended for use in diesel engines, GDI engines or as a general-purpose degreaser.' It is designed for carburetor and induction-system cleaning — throttle body deposits, intake valves, and carburetor passages. For general engine-bay exterior cleaning, a purpose-built engine degreaser is the appropriate choice.
Why does this product carry a Prop 65 warning?▾
SDS §15 explicitly identifies naphthalene (CAS 91-20-3) as a California Prop 65 listed carcinogen present in the formula at 1–<5%. The Amazon product listing does not display the Prop 65 badge — but the SDS §15 regulatory section is authoritative. The product also carries H350 (carcinogenicity Cat 1B) at the mixture level in SDS §2.
Is this safe for fuel injectors and catalytic converters?▾
Yes — the manufacturer data bulletin states: 'Power Foam is safe for fuel injectors, catalytic converters and emissions-control devices. It will not damage seals, gaskets, rubber or plastic materials commonly used in gasoline engines.' This is an explicit manufacturer technical claim from the product data bulletin, not generic marketing language.
What PPE does the SDS require for this product?▾
H318 serious eye damage classification means splash goggles or safety goggles are required per SDS §8. H315 skin irritation means impervious gloves are directed. The pressurized aerosol form factor triggers the lungs:required tier — SDS §8 directs respiratory protection in conditions of insufficient ventilation, and SDS §11 lists dizziness and difficulty breathing as inhalation overexposure symptoms.
Why is this product currently unavailable on Amazon?▾
The Rainforest cache from May 2026 shows 'Currently unavailable' for ASIN B0089NWQKC. AMSOIL sells its products primarily through its dealer network and the AMSOIL online store. The Amazon listing may reflect periodic stock gaps rather than permanent discontinuation.

Awesome product
Fixed my idling issues with my 03 Envoy in 10 minutes if using power foam. It breaks up the crud the inferior ethanol leaves in the engine. Since we're forced to put that garbage ethenol in our tanks, power foam is a must have.
