TL;DR Holds beading 3-4 months on a monthly-washed car; the "up to 6 months" label is optimistic, but the real-world number beats most spray waxes. The rinse-step method (spray on wet car after washing, second rinse, done) is uniquely easy. Gloss is clean but not carnauba-warm. Carries a Prop 65 warning.
Spray it on a wet car after washing, follow with a second rinse, then dry normally, no buffing. The ceramic chemistry bonds to the paint and the silicone wax adds gloss. Spray-and-wipe on a dry panel also works. Community durability evidence points to 3-4 months on monthly-washed vehicles; under weekly washing, real-world testing puts protection at 3-4 weeks. Gloss is a solid, reflective finish, not the warm depth of carnauba.
Best for daily-driver owners who want ceramic-wax protection as part of the wash step with no buffing. Nothing else in this price range executes the rinse-step method this cleanly. Skip it if dark-paint gloss depth is the priority; a carnauba spray wax delivers a warmer finish. Skip if you need longer coverage; a sealant or dedicated ceramic spray will outlast this format.
SDS signal word WARNING. The only mixture-level hazard code is H319 (eye irritation, temporary redness). The SDS explicitly states no gloves are required. Safety glasses are worth using when spraying at face height or in wind. The product listing carries a Prop 65 warning; the specific triggering ingredient is unconfirmed in the EU/UK SDS on file. H412 (chronic aquatic toxicity Cat 3) is classified at the mixture level.
Most owners reapply every 4 to 8 weeks, and a practical rule is to top up whenever water stops beading tightly on the paint. Because the rinse-step method takes only minutes, many people simply add it during a regular wash. On weekly-washed or sun-exposed cars, plan to reapply more often, closer to monthly.
Community evidence from owners and forum reports points to 3-4 months on vehicles washed monthly, with beading still visible at that point. Under more frequent weekly washing, a Jimbo's Detailing real-world test found visible protection for 3-4 weeks. The spray-as-a-drying-aid method (applied on a wet car, rinsed off) extends longevity the most. The label claims 'up to 6 months', that is a best-case figure, not a typical result.
Most spray waxes require spray, wipe, and buff on a dry panel. This one is designed to apply directly to a wet car during the final rinse step, spray on after washing, follow with a second rinse, then dry normally. The ceramic bonding chemistry in the formula extends durability beyond traditional spray waxes. Few other ceramic spray waxes in this price range offer the rinse-step method.
The product listing flags a California Prop 65 warning. The SDS on file is a UK/EU REACH document (which doesn't address Prop 65), and the specific triggering ingredient is not identified in that SDS. The petroleum distillates hydrotreated light fraction at 1-5% is a potential candidate, but this is unconfirmed. The CCT health score already reflects a deduction for the confirmed Prop 65 flag.
Yes. Meguiar's specifically instructs spray-on during the rinse step, immediately after washing off the shampoo. Spray onto each wet panel, follow with a second rinse to spread and level the product, then dry normally. No buffing required with this method. The spray-on/wipe-off method on a dry or damp panel also works.
Yes. The SDS Section 3 confirms trimethylsilylated silica (CAS 68988-56-7) at 1-5% by weight, a silicone-modified silica that provides genuine ceramic-style bonding to the paint surface. This is above the trace-level classification used in some competing products.
