From the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 8
“SDS Section 8 calls for protective goggles during use. Section 2 carries no eye-hazard GHS code, so this is a splash precaution for a spray-applied product, not a mixture-level eye hazard.”

From the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 8
“SDS Section 8 recommends gloves resistant to silicones plus adequate protective clothing. Section 2 has no skin-hazard GHS code; Section 4 first aid notes skin contact 'may cause irritation,' which keeps this at a precaution rather than a required tier.”

From the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 8
“SDS Section 8 calls for adequate ventilation during use. Section 2 has no respiratory GHS classification and Section 11 reports no toxicological data, so this reads as standard ventilation guidance for a spray, not a respirator requirement.”

This product ranks #3 of 28 in Ceramic Spray Coating.

TL;DR Solid spray-and-wipe ceramic protection that goes on in direct sunlight without fuss · application is the category standout. Gloss improvement is modest but real; owner-reported durability ranges from about a month on some daily drivers to 5+ months in lower-wash scenarios, well short of the label's 6-month claim.
Tough As Shell is a water-based hybrid ceramic spray for paint, glass, trim, and wheels. Spray on, work in with one microfiber, buff off with a second · many owners confirm it handles direct sunlight without chasing residue. Owner-reported durability splits: some owners logged 5+ months of strong water-beading through a wet season; others saw protection fade at around 30 days across multiple paint colors. The community-confirmed median sits around 6·10 weeks on regularly washed vehicles, roughly half the brand's 6-month claim. Hydrophobics are strong and consistent. Gloss improvement is visible, though some owners note it underperforms at least one comparable product on that dimension.
Daily-driver owners who want ceramic-style protection without a learning curve will find this easy and forgiving · works as a standalone or over an existing base coat. Skip it if documented long-term durability is the priority; the review record shows real variance.
The SDS has no GHS signal word and no GHS hazard classifications at the mixture level · the HMIS Health-1 rating is a non-GHS system and does not itself generate H-codes. Section 8 of the SDS still names goggles, silicone-resistant gloves, protective clothing, and adequate ventilation as standard-use precautions for this spray; see the PPE panel above for the honest tier on each. Water-based formula cures onto the surface, limiting drain exposure. No PFAS in the SDS. Isopropyl alcohol is present below the GHS hazardous-component threshold.
