TL;DR Aerosol white lithium grease with a PTFE-based film-former for extra load capacity on door hinges and garage tracks. Limited independent community data for this SKU; durability is scored at commodity aerosol level. The health score is held down by a stack of confirmed irritant codes (skin and eye) plus a California Prop 65 warning and an inhalation classification (narcotic effects); the petroleum-distillate carrier sprayed as a mist is the reason gloves, eye protection, and open-air use all apply.
Sprays as a liquid and sets into a white film on metal contact points. Direct the extension straw into a hinge pin or track channel, spray a short burst, cycle the mechanism, wipe excess off painted surfaces. The PTFE-based additive builds load capacity above a plain lithium soap aerosol, useful for spring-loaded tracks and hinges under repetitive load. No published temperature rating; the manufacturer claims long-lasting protection but community confirmation for this SKU is limited.
Right for garage door tracks, exterior door hinges, hood and trunk latches, or any metal-on-metal sliding contact that cycles under load. Skip it for rubber seals, weatherstripping, and plastics; white lithium grease can degrade certain polymers. For electrical connections, use dielectric grease; for rubber and plastic surfaces, silicone spray.
DANGER label from flammable-aerosol classification (H222) · not from health H-codes. Health H-codes per SDS §2 are H315 (skin irritation), H319 (serious eye irritation), and H336 (narcotic effects via inhalation), all WARNING-level Cat-2A/Cat-3. Those codes stack: H319 caps the starting score, then skin, eye, Prop 65, and lung-PPE deductions all apply, which is what pulls the health score into the mid band. H336 and the aerosol format place lungs at recommended; use outdoors or in an open garage. Safety glasses and nitrile gloves for extended sessions. SDS §15 documents a Prop 65 warning for titanium dioxide (respirable-dust pathway).
The Safety Data Sheet for Liquid Wrench L616 White Lithium Grease carries a DANGER signal word, with classified hazards including H222 (extremely flammable aerosol); H302 (harmful if swallowed); H315 (causes skin irritation). The Amazon listing also carries a California Prop 65 warning. See the PPE breakdown above for use-case-specific guidance translated from the SDS hazard codes.
CarCareTruth scores Liquid Wrench L616 White Lithium Grease at 5.8 out of 10 on the composite CCT score, with a health sub-score of 4.0/10. The CCT score blends real-world effectiveness, ingredient health impact pulled from the manufacturer's safety sheet, and environmental footprint against a published category rubric. See the methodology link on this page for the full scoring breakdown.
Per the Safety Data Sheet ingredient disclosure: SDS §3 (Version 14, 2021-04-20): Distillates petroleum hydrotreated light (CAS 64742-47-8) 40-<50%; Distillates petroleum solvent-dewaxed heavy paraffinic (CAS 64742-65-0) 20-<30%; Distillates petroleum hydrotreated heavy naphthenic (CAS 64742-52-5) 10-<20%; Propane (CAS 74-98-6) 5-<10%; Zinc Oxide (CAS 1314-13-2) 1-<3%; Titanium Dioxide (CAS 13463-67-7) below reportable threshold (Prop 65 trigger).
