This product ranks #2 of 6 in Clay Lubricant.
Last reviewed June 9, 2026
TL;DR Exceptional glide: clay moves freely over a full panel with a conservative spray and wipes bone-dry with one microfiber pass after, no residue to strip before a coating goes on.
ECH2O is a silicone-based rinseless wash concentrate from CarPro, used here at a 1:40 dilution for clay lubricant (the same bottle dilutes to 1:15 for waterless wash and 1:200 for rinseless wash). At the clay dilution it delivers best-in-tier glide; detailers cite it routinely in ceramic coating prep workflows where a contamination-free surface is critical. Clay moves effortlessly with a conservative spray; the community reports panels wipe clean with one fresh microfiber pass before the next protection step. One liter makes over 10 gallons of working solution. The brand states PPF and vinyl compatibility; no named third-party manufacturer endorsement has been confirmed independently.
Strong fit for owners who clay before a ceramic coating or sealant and want maximum glide confidence and a prep-ready surface afterward. If you already own a rinseless wash, diluting at 1:16 achieves comparable lubrication; this concentrate adds economy and convenience, not a categorical capability difference.
The SDS classifies this as a mild eye irritant (the H319 code) with a WARNING signal word, so safety glasses are sensible when handling it and you should rinse promptly if it gets in your eyes. That single mild-irritant code on an otherwise benign, neutral-pH (8), water-based formula is what sets the health score: it lands at 7.5, not a near-perfect mark, because a real eye-irritation classification is present, but it stays in the low-risk band because there is no second irritant, no skin or respiratory hazard, and no Prop 65 or PFAS concern. The SDS confirms no respiratory protection is needed under normal outdoor use. Separately, the primary silicone active is confirmed non-biodegradable and bioaccumulative in aquatic organisms, which is an environmental concern (not a health one) and drives the environment score to 5.5.
The Safety Data Sheet for CarPro ECH2O Waterless Wash & Clay Lubricant Concentrate carries a WARNING signal word, with classified hazards including H319 (causes serious eye irritation). See the PPE breakdown above for use-case-specific guidance translated from the SDS hazard codes.
CarCareTruth scores CarPro ECH2O Waterless Wash & Clay Lubricant Concentrate at 7.5 out of 10 on the composite CCT score, with a health sub-score of 7.5/10. The CCT score blends real-world effectiveness, ingredient health impact pulled from the manufacturer's safety sheet, and environmental footprint against a published category rubric. See the methodology link on this page for the full scoring breakdown.
