CarCareTruth's Analysis
Last reviewed May 28, 2026
TL;DR Strong cleaner for ceramic and nano-sealant coatings, highly concentrated at 1:400–500, and confirmed by long-term reviewers to preserve coating performance. WARNING signal word at concentrate; working solution is low-hazard.
What it is and how it performs
CarPro Reset is a highly concentrated shampoo for maintaining ceramic and nano-sealant coatings. It lifts road film without adding gloss enhancers or waxes that could alter coating hydrophobics. Add about 2 mL per liter in a two-bucket setup or scale up for a foam cannon. The foam is dense and clings through a full panel. Multiple long-term reviewers confirm road film removal in a single pass, no swirl reports, and restored beading on coated cars after washes where the coating had appeared to dull.
Who should buy this — and who should skip it
Best for ceramic or nano-sealant coated car owners who want a dedicated maintenance wash that won't alter the coating's hydrophobic behavior. The concentration is extreme enough that a 1L bottle lasts a year of weekly washes per long-term reviewers, offsetting the price. Skip it if you need a strip wash before applying new paint protection — use a dedicated stripping shampoo for that step.
Safety and environmental impact
WARNING signal word at concentrate, driven by H315 and H319 — both resolve at the 1:500 working-solution dilution; no PPE is warranted for normal outdoor use. The environment score is below average for the category: one surfactant ingredient has confirmed aquatic toxicity at the ingredient level, and tetrasodium EDTA (10–<30%) is poorly biodegraded in wastewater. The product mixture has not been tested for biodegradability per SDS §12.
Frequently asked questions
Is CarPro Reset safe for ceramic coatings?▾
Yes. The formula contains no gloss enhancers, polymer additives, or wax components. Multiple verified reviewers using it on CQUARTZ-coated cars confirm beading and coating behavior is preserved after regular washes. Restored beading after washing has been noted by several long-term buyers.
What is the dilution ratio?▾
The label recommends 1:400–500 — approximately 2 mL per liter, or about 1 oz per 5 gallons. One 1L bottle yields roughly 400–500 wash loads at this ratio. Long-term buyers confirm a single 1L bottle lasts about a year of weekly washes.
Does CarPro Reset have a Prop 65 warning?▾
No. The Rainforest cache shows proposition_65_warning: false, and the CDN SDS §15 identifies no Prop 65-listed substances.
Can I use it in a foam cannon?▾
Yes. Community reviewers regularly use it at higher concentration in foam cannons (e.g., 50 mL soap in 750 mL water) and report dense, cling foam. It performs well in both two-bucket and foam-cannon setups.
Why is the environment score lower than the health score?▾
Car shampoo is drain-destined — the full wash solution goes to runoff. The formula contains an ethoxylated alcohol surfactant with confirmed aquatic toxicity at the ingredient level, and tetrasodium EDTA (10–<30%) is poorly biodegradable and persistent in wastewater. No Prop 65 warning applies and the working-solution health profile is clean, but these two environmental factors reduce the environment score.

Excellent Pairing w/ Ceramic Coated Cars
Carpro reset is the perfect car soap to pair with CQuartz 2.0 ceramic coating. I’ve been using this for two years now paired with my SunJoe pressure washer and it foams SUPER well. The suds lift up grime quickly and rinses away super well to prevent micro-scratching.Amazon packages it well. It comes in a plastic bag in case of spillage (which after four bottles I have yet to experience).Highly recommended for the DIY detailers.
