Only when: splash risk
Beyond SDS: translated from the ingredient chemistry
No US OSHA SDS available for this product; PPE tier is a precautionary default per W-NOSDS-PPE (no SDS available). The EU CLP SDS (Juicy Cherry variant) shows H319 Eye Irritation Cat 2A at mixture level and SDS §8 notes eye protection if liquid could be splashed or sprayed. The fogger format means direct eye exposure is not the normal use case (user exits the vehicle before activation), but re-entry before full airing carries residual mist risk.
U.S. regulatory standard

Only when: sensitive individuals
Beyond SDS: translated from the ingredient chemistry
No US OSHA SDS available for this product; PPE tier is a precautionary default per W-NOSDS-PPE. EU CLP SDS (Juicy Cherry variant) shows H317 Skin Sensitizer 1B and H315 Skin Irritation at ingredient level (ethyl-methylphenylglycidate and alpha-iso-methylionone fragrance components) but these do not appear as mixture-level H-codes in §2. This is a total-release fogger · skin contact with the product mist is incidental (user exits before activation). Situational with sensitive_individual trigger for those who may contact residual mist on re-entry.

Especially relevant: in enclosed space
Beyond SDS: translated from the ingredient chemistry
Lungs: required is a categorical rule for all aerosol fogger format products regardless of H-code profile. The enclosed-space peak-concentration fog cycle is the basis · the user must not be present during the fog cycle and must allow full airing (all doors open, 10 minutes minimum) before re-entry. No US OSHA SDS available for this product; the categorical aerosol_fogger rule applies independent of H-code evidence. Re-entry before adequate airing carries genuine inhalation risk from residual aerosol and high-VOC propellant vapors.
No Safety Data Sheet is on file for this product. The tier above is a cautious default translated from the ingredient chemistry, not a cited manufacturer classification. Request an SDS from the manufacturer before use.
No PPE specified in published sources for ventilation. Absence does not imply “not needed” — no Safety Data Sheet is on file, so request one from the manufacturer before use.
PPE tiers here are cautious defaults translated from the product’s ingredient chemistry — no manufacturer SDS is on file to cite. Not professional safety advice. How we report safety.
Scope of these PPE tiers. The tiers on this page translate the product's Safety Data Sheet where one is published, plus its ingredient chemistry, into a comparable rating. They describe a formulation, not a situation: a tier is not a safety determination for any specific user, task, quantity, or environment. The manufacturer's label and use instructions govern how the product is handled. Where the product is used at work, the employer's PPE program and hazard assessment under 29 CFR 1910.132 decide what protection is selected, not this page.

TL;DR This one-shot fogger is fragrance masking only · the formula as documented in the EU Safety Data Sheet shows no odor-elimination active ingredients, just fragrance compounds in a propellant aerosol. Because it's a total-release aerosol fogger with an extremely high VOC propellant, the health score is 5.0: do not be inside the vehicle during the fog cycle, and air it out for at least 10 minutes before re-entering.
A pressurized 2.5 oz single-use can designed to fill a sealed vehicle cabin with a fragrance mist. You place the can in the cup holder, activate the nozzle lock, step out of the car, and wait 10-15 minutes for the can to fully discharge, then air out the cabin for at least 10 minutes with all doors open before re-entry. The product is marketed with "Odor-X Technology" that "permanently seeks and destroys odors at a molecular level" · but the available ingredient chemistry (IPA solvent, benzaldehyde, ethyl methylphenylglycidate, and alpha-iso-methylionone, all fragrance compounds) shows no enzyme, antimicrobial, or molecular-binding active. The mechanism is fragrance masking: a strong New Car scent displaces the odor you're trying to eliminate for as long as the fragrance lasts. Community reviews back this up · some buyers with light-to-moderate cigarette smoke report success lasting weeks, while others find the odor returns once the car heats up in the sun. The New Car scent itself divides buyers sharply; a meaningful minority describe it as overwhelming or headache-inducing.
This works best as a quick before-an-impression freshening treatment · when you need the car to smell presentable for a few hours or days and the underlying odor isn't deeply embedded. Skip it if you're dealing with smoke, pet urine, or food odors embedded in seat foam or carpet padding: the fragrance will mask them temporarily, but the odor source is untreated and will return. For embedded biological odors, a direct-application enzyme spray is a better tool. Also skip it if you or your passengers are sensitive to strong synthetic fragrances · the New Car scent is potent enough that some buyers report needing to run the windows down for days after treatment.
No US OSHA safety data sheet has been located for this product (SKU 50653, ASIN B01MU2O8DE) despite an exhaustive search of manufacturer and retailer SDS portals. This section relies on the EU CLP Safety Data Sheet for this product platform (Turtle Wax Europe Limited, Juicy Cherry variant, rev 2023-05-15); this assessment is based on that EU proxy document, and if the US formula differs materially, the hazard profile may differ as well. The EU SDS classifies the product DANGER, driven entirely by physical-hazard codes: H222 (Extremely Flammable Aerosol, Aerosol Cat 1) and H229 (Pressurized Container: may burst if heated). These are fire and explosion hazards from the hydrocarbon propellant · the EU SDS §9.2.1 shows the product is 94.87% flammable content by weight. There are no health-tier DANGER codes. The one health classification at mixture level is H319 (Causes Serious Eye Irritation, Cat 2). At ingredient level, the fragrance compounds carry H317 (skin sensitizer) and H411 (aquatic chronic Cat 2), but these do not appear in the mixture-level §2 classification. GHS PPE guidance per W-NOSDS-PPE protocol: eyes and skin tiers are precautionary situational defaults (no US SDS chemistry available to refine them); lungs is required as a categorical rule for all total-release aerosol foggers, independent of H-code evidence. The fogger format creates peak-concentration enclosed-space inhalation risk during the fog cycle regardless of the specific chemistry. Do not be in the vehicle during activation. Air out fully before re-entry. Keep all ignition sources away from the vehicle · the aerosol propellant is extremely flammable. Environment score is 5.5, primarily driven by the very-high VOC propellant load (>550 g/L estimated). Fragrance compounds at ingredient level carry H411 aquatic chronic toxicity, but the finished-product EU SDS §12 classifies the mixture as not harmful to aquatic organisms, so no aquatic deduction is taken at the mixture level.
Based on the available EU Safety Data Sheet for this product platform, the formula contains fragrance compounds · IPA (solvent), benzaldehyde (aldehyde fragrance), ethyl methylphenylglycidate (fruity ester fragrance), and alpha-iso-methylionone (woody/iris fragrance). The EU SDS discloses no enzyme, no EPA-registered antimicrobial active, no cyclodextrin, and no other odor-elimination chemistry. The 'Odor-X Technology' and 'penetrate fabrics to permanently seek and destroy odors at a molecular level' marketing language is not supported by the ingredient chemistry · the three disclosed actives are fragrance compounds, not odor-destruction agents. This assessment is based on the EU Safety Data Sheet for this product platform (no US SDS for SKU 50653 has been located); if the US formula differs meaningfully from the EU version, the mechanism assessment may need revision. Community reviews confirm the fragrance-masking pattern: buyers who left cars in the sun after treatment report the original odor returning as the fragrance fades.
Place the can in the cup holder or on the floor, activate the nozzle lock, immediately exit the vehicle and close all doors. Leave the vehicle closed for 10-15 minutes while the can fully discharges. After the fog cycle is complete, open all doors and ventilate the cabin for at least 10 minutes before re-entering. The manufacturer's label may specify different timing · follow the label. Do not enter the vehicle during the fog cycle. HVAC on recirculate during the fog cycle helps distribute the mist through the ventilation system.
The DANGER signal word on this product is driven entirely by physical-hazard classifications: H222 (Extremely Flammable Aerosol, Aerosol Cat 1) and H229 (Pressurized Container: may burst if heated). These are fire and explosion hazards · the pressurized hydrocarbon propellant that makes up the majority of the can is extremely flammable. There are no health-tier DANGER codes (no H330, H314, H318, or H334) in the EU CLP SDS. H319 (causes serious eye irritation, Cat 2) is the only health hazard classified at mixture level. Keep away from heat, open flames, and ignition sources. Do not use near running engines or smoking.
Community reviews are divided. Some buyers report success on light-to-moderate smoke · particularly from occasional smokers · with owners reporting the smell gone for a couple of months. Others report the odor returning after the car sat in the sun for several hours, which is consistent with fragrance-masking behavior: the fragrance covers the smoke during the initial treatment, but heat reactivates the underlying embedded odor. For smoke deeply embedded in headliner fabric and seat foam, a direct-application enzyme spray or professional cleaning is likely to be more durable.
Yes · this is a total-release aerosol fogger that fills the sealed cabin with a high-VOC propellant aerosol. The primary safety rules: (1) Never be inside the vehicle during the fog cycle. (2) Air out the cabin for at least 10 minutes with all doors open before re-entering. (3) Keep all ignition sources · cigarettes, running engines, sparks · away from the vehicle during and after treatment; the propellant is extremely flammable (H222). The health score of 5.0 reflects both the aerosol_fogger categorical rule and the no-SDS protocol · no US OSHA safety data sheet has been located for SKU 50653. This assessment is based on the EU Safety Data Sheet for this product platform; if the US formula differs, the safety profile may differ as well.
