Health score is for adult use as intended, per the manufacturer's SDS. It does not model child ingestion, accidental spill cleanup, or off-label use. See the safety panel below for full hazard classification, and /disclaimer for the full editorial scope.
GHS hazard codes are quoted from the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet. PPE tiers below translate those codes and the listed ingredient chemistry; they are not CarCareTruth recommendations.

Translated from the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 8
SDS Section 8 recommends protective eyewear when the product is handled such that it could splash into eyes, a realistic risk during a DIY oil change (draining, filter swap). Section 2 carries no eye-hazard GHS code; Section 11 reports the product is only slightly irritating to the eye.

Translated from the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 8
SDS Section 8 calls chemical resistant gloves good practice, and Section 11 (via the Other Hazards note) documents that prolonged or repeated skin contact without proper cleaning can clog pores and cause oil acne/folliculitis. Section 2 carries no skin-hazard GHS code; this is a real but mild contact effect, not a mixture-level hazard.

Translated from the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 8
SDS Section 8 states no respiratory protection is ordinarily required for normal handling, and Section 2 carries no signal word or inhalation GHS code. The caution is conditional: Section 8 flags it only if engineering ventilation is inadequate, or if the oil is heated, sprayed, or misted, which raises airborne concentration potential above normal pour-and-drain use.

No PPE specified in published sources for ventilation. Absence does not imply “not needed” — consult the full Safety Data Sheet.
PPE tiers translate the manufacturer’s SDS and U.S. regulatory standards. Not professional safety advice. How we report safety.
Scope of these PPE tiers. The tiers on this page translate the product's Safety Data Sheet where one is published, plus its ingredient chemistry, into a comparable rating. They describe a formulation, not a situation: a tier is not a safety determination for any specific user, task, quantity, or environment. The manufacturer's label and use instructions govern how the product is handled. Where the product is used at work, the employer's PPE program and hazard assessment under 29 CFR 1910.132 decide what protection is selected, not this page.

TL;DR Meets API SP + ILSAC GF-6A · the current spec for most 2020-2026 gasoline passenger-car engines · with GM dexos1 Gen 3, Ford, and Chrysler OEM approvals confirmed on the product label. The SDS carries no GHS hazard classification, and no Prop 65 warning was found on the label, in the SDS, or on the retail listing.
Quaker State Full Synthetic 0W-20 is a fully synthetic engine oil certified to API SP, ILSAC GF-6A, and three named OEM specifications: GM dexos1 Gen 3, Chrysler MS-6395, and Ford WSS-M2C962-A1 (all confirmed on the product label as of 2026-05-27). That spec stack covers the majority of 2015-2026 GM, Ford, and Chrysler-platform engines specifying 0W-20, as well as most other modern gasoline engines that require the current API SP generation. The label does not state a specific mileage drain interval · it defers to the owner's manual · and community used-oil analysis data for this product is limited (one BITOG thread at 2,100 miles, too short to evaluate interval performance). Drain interval should follow OEM guidance until more UOA data accumulates.
Best for owners of 2015-2026 GM, Ford, or Chrysler-platform vehicles that specify 0W-20 and require dexos1 Gen 3 or the named Ford/Chrysler approvals · this oil satisfies those requirements at a competitive price point. Skip it if your OEM requires Honda HTO-06 or Toyota approval: those approvals have not been confirmed for this product on the Quaker State product page as of the review date. Also skip it if you want extended-drain confidence beyond your owner's manual · without a robust UOA dataset, there is no community-validated basis to push drain intervals.
The SDS classifies this product as not hazardous under GHS · no signal word, no health H-code classifications at mixture level, and no California Prop 65 warning on either the SDS or the product label. The aspiration hazard does not apply at the mixture level because the kinematic viscosity at 40°C significantly exceeds the CLP viscosity exemption threshold. Note: the SDS on file covers the 5W-30 grade of the same Quaker State Full Synthetic product family · a product-specific SDS for the 0W-20 grade was not publicly available as of the review date, but both grades carry identical "not classified as hazardous" GHS status. The SDS §12 confirms no aquatic toxicity classification and no zinc or anti-wear additive disclosure above reporting thresholds, which is why this product scores the synthetic ceiling of 5 on environment. Used oil goes to collection · not down the drain or on the ground; used-oil drop-off is available at most automotive retailers.
