The manufacturer's Safety Data Sheet classifies this product with one or more GHS Category 1 health hazards — the most severe tier. The hazard statements in quotes below are the verbatim GHS language from the SDS, as required by OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard. The line under each statement translates the GHS classification into plain language.
- H304 “May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways.”
GHS Category 1 aspiration toxicity — thin, oily liquids can slip into the lungs if swallowed, causing chemical pneumonia.
If swallowed, inhaled, or splashed in eyes:
Call Poison Control immediately at 1-800-222-1222 (US, 24/7, free) and have the product container with you. Poison Control's standing guidance is to not induce vomiting after chemical exposure; they will direct first-aid steps based on the specific product.

“Eye irritation classification is present from the SDS — aerosol mist can reach eye height during application. Safety glasses are appropriate for routine use. No serious eye damage classification is present; the DANGER signal word is driven by aspiration and organ-damage hazard routes, not an ocular pathway.”

CarCareTruth's Analysis
Last reviewed May 27, 2026
TL;DR Rated DANGER by GHS — the aerosol propellant causes single-exposure organ damage to the cardiovascular system via inhalation, and the petroleum-solvent carrier has an aspiration hazard. Wear safety glasses and nitrile gloves; respiratory protection is required. Reliably eliminates squeaks in door seals and window tracks, dries clean, straw nozzle reaches tight gaps — keep it off painted panels.
What it is and how it performs
Aerosol silicone lubricant for rubber door seals, weatherstripping, window tracks, and plastic trim slides. Spray, let it flash dry, and the silicone film reduces friction and prevents stiffening. The straw fits tight hinge gaps and weatherstrip channels without overspray on adjacent paint. Community reviews confirm four to eight weeks of hold on outdoor-exposed seals — adequate for seasonal maintenance. The Dry Type label means no oily residue that traps dust. Keep it off any surface that may need bodywork — silicone contamination prevents paint adhesion.
Who should buy this — and who should skip it
Car owners with squeaky door seals, sticky window tracks, or binding weatherstripping. Skip it for metal-on-metal contact — load-bearing hinges, fasteners, chains — and never near brake components; white lithium grease is the right tool for those. Anyone who cannot work outdoors or with powered ventilation should choose a pump-trigger silicone formula.
Safety and environmental impact
DANGER signal word. The aerosol propellant carries a single-exposure organ-damage classification affecting the cardiovascular system via inhalation — respiratory protection is required. The petroleum-solvent carrier has an aspiration hazard if swallowed; eye irritation and skin irritation classifications are present. Wear safety glasses and nitrile gloves; use outdoors or with powered ventilation. VOC ≤390 g/L; California Prop 65 warning applies.

Works in Florida
It works great on vinyl window tracks. We installed 33 large (3-0/4-0) double hung tilt-in Anderson windows during two separate renovations over a 7 year period. These are low E, high performance windows installed in Florida. Some take sun directly, some take heavy rain, all get opened and closed on a regular basis. The tracks get dust, spider webs, and all combination of creepy crawlies so the windows get power washed about twice a year. This stuff does not attract dirt, lasts for over a year, and leaves no visible residue (the tracks on our windows are white and light brown). The windows slide better than the day they were installed. I even put this on without dusting, cleaning or blowing off the tracks on a couple of windows and there was no difference. This size can covered top and bottom of the sides of about 45 windows this size. You do not need to lather it on, rather use a brisk spray from about 8 inches away. Highly recommended (works in locks, too). If you are anal retentive, you could tilt the windows in, spray the sides of the windows themselves and then spray the sides of the frames also. This will put a coat on all surfaces. But, if the windows were installed loosely they may slide so well that you could break them the first time you open them or close them using the force you had to use before lubing them up - I'm serious.
