🛡️Undercoating

Undercoating is the thick rubberized or wax-based coating you spray onto the underside of the vehicle — frame rails, floor pans, wheel wells — to block road salt, moisture, and chipping debris from starting rust. Apply it on a clean, dry undercarriage in fall before salt season, or right after buying a used car from a non-rust state. Wax-based products self-heal small chips and can be reapplied yearly; rubberized coatings are tougher but trap moisture if applied over existing rust. Pair with a rust converter on any spots already showing.
