Prices may varyThe manufacturer's Safety Data Sheet classifies this product with one or more GHS Category 1 health hazards — the most severe tier. The hazard statements in quotes below are the verbatim GHS language from the SDS, as required by OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard. The line under each statement translates the GHS classification into plain language.
GHS Category 1 carcinogenicity — classified as suspected of causing cancer with repeated or prolonged exposure.

About this product's hazards. This product's Safety Data Sheet uses signal word danger. Read the manufacturer's SDS and follow all safety instructions before use. CarCareTruth ratings translate the manufacturer's safety sheet. They do not replace the SDS or substitute for a hazard assessment specific to your task.
Health score is for adult use as intended, per the manufacturer's SDS. It does not model child ingestion, accidental spill cleanup, or off-label use. See the safety panel below for full hazard classification, and /disclaimer for the full editorial scope.

From the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 8
“SDS §2 has no H319 or H318 at mixture level. Brush-in-cap paste format; brief brush-flick splash is the realistic eye-contact scenario.”

From the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 8
“DANGER signal word requires at least one PPE axis at required. No H314 skin corrosion in §2 - this tier is DANGER-forced for validator compliance. SDS §8 recommends gloves; petroleum-grease carrier with copper metal flake warrants routine wash-after-use.”

From the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 8
“Paste format produces no inhalation risk during application. First heat cycle in-service can produce brief smoke from carrier oil burning off; occurs in the engine bay during normal use, not during application.”
— Permatex
U.S. regulatory standard

TL;DR Solid thread protection for spark plugs, exhaust manifold studs, and brake hardware up to 1800F. The brush-in-cap makes applying a thin, controlled coat straightforward. Copper formula: not the right choice for stainless exhaust at sustained high heat - use a nickel-based anti-seize there instead.
Copper anti-seize in a brush-in-cap jar for exhaust hardware, spark plug threads, oxygen sensor bungs, and brake caliper bolts. Brush a thin coat on clean threads before assembly, torque to spec, and the paste holds through years of thermal cycling. Owners report clean disassembly after multiple seasons of service. The 1800F rating covers typical manifold and plug work, and the brush-in-cap keeps application controlled.
Best for DIY mechanics doing spark plug service, exhaust hardware, or brake caliper work on daily drivers. Skip it if you are working on stainless exhaust at sustained high heat: copper can cause stress-corrosion cracking on stainless, so a nickel-based anti-seize is the right call there. Buyers wanting to avoid the DANGER-level SDS chemistry can use Permatex Silver Grade 81343 instead.
DANGER signal word from H350 (carcinogen Cat 1B): the petroleum carrier is classified under US hazard standards per IARC Group 1 for refined petroleum fractions. This is a standard SDS convention for that class of oil, not a warning about applying a few grams to fastener threads. Wash hands after use; safety glasses are reasonable for brush application. Copper in the paste is acutely toxic to aquatic life per SDS Section 12, so dispose of contaminated rags as automotive waste.
The Safety Data Sheet for Permatex Copper Anti-Seize Lubricant, 8 oz carries a DANGER signal word, with classified hazards including H350 (may cause cancer). See the PPE breakdown above for use-case-specific guidance translated from the SDS hazard codes.
CarCareTruth scores Permatex Copper Anti-Seize Lubricant, 8 oz at 6.4 out of 10 on the composite CCT score, with a health sub-score of 4.5/10. The CCT score blends real-world effectiveness, ingredient health impact pulled from the manufacturer's safety sheet, and environmental footprint against a published category rubric. See the methodology link on this page for the full scoring breakdown.
Per the Safety Data Sheet ingredient disclosure: SDS §3 (Version 1, 19-Dec-2024): Distillates (Petroleum), Hydrotreated Heavy Paraffinic (CAS 64742-54-7) 30-60%; Magnesium Silicate/Talc (CAS 14807-96-6) 10-30%; Limestone (CAS 1317-65-3) 10-30%; Copper (CAS 7440-50-8) 3-7%; Graphite (CAS 7782-42-5) 1-5%; Amorphous Silica (CAS 7631-86-9) 1-5%.
