CarCareTruth's Analysis
Last reviewed May 16, 2026
TL;DR Strong first impressions — good beading and easy spray-and-wipe application — but durability runs weeks, not the multi-month timeframe the brand implies. No published SDS.
What it is and how it performs
Nexgen Ceramic Spray is a pump-spray protectant; spray on, wipe off panel by panel. Application is beginner-friendly — most Amazon reviewers describe it as easy, with no meaningful complaints about streaking or high-spotting. The brand markets a 13% SiO₂ concentration, though that figure is unverifiable without a published SDS. Community durability data from over 9,600 reviews shows a bimodal pattern: enthusiastic short-term impressions on beading and gloss, with longer-term owners reporting protection degrades within 4–8 weeks of weekly washing. That falls well short of the multi-month implication in brand marketing. Quality Score: 5.55/10.
Who should buy this — and who should skip it
Best for owners who want beginner-friendly spray-and-wipe protection and are comfortable reapplying every 4–8 weeks. Skip it if you need longevity that matches the marketing — better-documented options from brands with published SDSs offer comparable community-confirmed durability.
Safety and environmental impact
Nexgen has not published an SDS for this product. No signal word, GHS codes, VOC, pH, or PFAS status can be confirmed — safety data is based on ingredient chemistry only, and with no SDS that chemistry is unknown. The pump-spray format creates fine mist during application; splash at face height is the primary exposure concern regardless of chemistry. Environment scores 6: leave-on pathway limits direct drain exposure, but the missing SDS prevents confirmation of biodegradability or aquatic toxicity status.
Frequently asked questions
How long does Nexgen Ceramic Spray actually last?▾
The brand's marketing implies multi-month protection, but community experience from Amazon reviews (over 9,600 ratings) and detailing forums tells a different story. Most daily-driver owners report beading and protection lasting in the range of a few weeks to a couple of months with regular washing — well short of the 'up to 1 year' implication in some brand marketing. For a daily driver washed weekly, plan for reapplication every 4–8 weeks to maintain the hydrophobic effect.
Is the '13% SiO₂' concentration claim independently verified?▾
No. Nexgen's 13% silicon dioxide figure appears on the brand website and in Amazon listing copy as a marketing claim. There is no published SDS for this product and no back-of-bottle ingredient list has been located, so the 13% figure cannot be independently corroborated. Most competing brands in this category make comparable percentage claims without third-party verification either.
Does Nexgen Ceramic Spray have a published SDS?▾
Not as of mid-2026. The brand's support center SDS page URLs all return 404 errors; the brand product page contains marketing copy only; chemicalsafety.com and web aggregator searches return no results for this product. With no SDS on file, the health score is held at 3.0 per the hybrid-ceramic-spray rubric's no-SDS rule — a documentary observation about the missing safety document, not a chemistry verdict. Nexgen's support email is support@getnexgen.com for direct SDS requests.
Is Nexgen Ceramic Spray easy to apply for a first-timer?▾
Yes, generally. The spray-and-wipe format is one of the more forgiving application methods in the ceramic protection category — no cure time, no special applicator required. Amazon reviewers broadly describe the application process as straightforward. Work in shade when possible; the main complaint across reviews is an occasional clogged trigger sprayer on first use, which is a packaging quirk rather than a formula problem.
How does Nexgen Ceramic Spray compare to spray wax?▾
In practice, it outlasts a typical spray wax on a daily driver — most users report beading through several washes before it needs reapplication. Whether the step-up in longevity justifies the price premium versus a high-quality spray wax depends on how often the car gets washed and how much the driver values minimizing reapplication frequency. The brand's marketing implies a much larger durability advantage than community data confirms.

Quick,Easy,Durable
Was skeptical at first, then slowly became a believer. Applied this to new Ram 1500 after washing and drying the truck. Didn't need to clay the surface as it was really free of contaminants. I followed the instructions, working in the shade and did a small area at a time. I bought a 10 pack of new microfiber towels for this job. I sprayed one towel liberally with the coating until it was damp. I used this towel to level and even out the coating after I sprayed it on. The others I used for buffing the coating off as instructed. I used a lot of the towels during the buffing phase as it worked easier removing the slight haze if new towels were used often. The instructions say to immediately wipe the coating after application. I would suggest not letting the coating dry too long before wiping it to a shine. It makes the job much easier. Working in small easily defined areas ensures complete coverage and a low aggravation level. A very well lighted area helps to ensure no contaminants find there way into your application area. I lost focus for just a second, and a small gnat the size of a pencil point hit the wet area as I started to buff the space. He's now stuck under the coating for posterity. I can't get him out of there no matter what i try. This ceramic is tough! Brake cleaner on a Q TIP didnt even touch it. I could polish the coating off in that small spot but he's in an inconspicuous part of the truck and the job came out nearly flawless so I don't want to screw that up.I guess the whole coating process took about an hour for a crew cab pickup including the windows.I used about half the bottle because I wanted complete coverage the first time and it's a huge truck. Some tips:Wear nitrile/latex gloves. Have plenty of new microfiber towels. I used 8 for the process. If you drop either towel during application , THROW IT AWAY. Get a clean one and keep going.Start on the roof until you get the hang of it. Any minor errors won't show if you have trouble. If you do have a problem, wet that area with spray right away and level it with the application rag. It actually is really forgiving if you do it right away.If you apply to your windows, make sure they're squeaky clean. I used 91% alcohol . Any streaks will show under the coating. Only do the outside. Buff immediately on glass.Make sure your paint surface is CLEAN. I didn't need to clay mine ( thank God) because it was new.Use your spreading/leveling cloth in one hand and your buffing towel in the other. Buff it off quickly. You'll get the same level of shine as if you waited but with less effort to remove the haze.I took my time and the results were amazing. The depth of the shine impressed me. It's tough.Bugs wipe right off with just a wet microfiber towel if you don't let them bake on in the sun. Then you might need some mild cleaner. I use Spray way non ammonia window foam and it works great to take the bugs off.I've had it on the truck for about a month and it looks like the day I applied it. Mostly, the dirt doesn't stick and the hose takes most of it off. A mild car wash soap and a 2 bucket system ensures that water still sheets off after washing. I honestly only washed the entire truck twice in a month. Nothing sticks to it now and it stays cleaner longer. Just front end tune-ups to get the bugs off and I don't even mind that because they slide right off.The gist of it is it really works. I'm basically lazy and I really didn't mind doing this job. When I saw the results on the first small area, I was actually excited to see how the truck would look when finished. It looks like I almost knew what I was doing.I get a lot of compliments and questions about what I used to get that shine. For me, it was worth the price I paid.
