TL;DR Launched November 2023 with a still-thin owner reviews base and no detailing-forum follow-up · the 3-year claim has no independent data behind it. Early owners report strong peak beading. SDS not yet on file; safety data is based on ingredient chemistry only · health held at 5.0.
A wipe-on, wipe-off ceramic coating in a 50 mL bottle with one microfiber applicator pad. Clay-bar and IPA-wipe first (both sold separately), pour drops onto the pad, work one panel at a time, wait two to four minutes for self-leveling, then buff with a clean microfiber. Cure is 24 hours at 50·100°F. With no r/AutoDetailing or Detailing World long-term thread yet, the 3-year claim sits as a hypothesis pending real-world follow-up.
Best for early adopters willing to try a newer formula who already own a clay bar and IPA panel wipe. Skip it if multi-year community-verified durability matters · established SiO₂ kits with forum follow-up and more complete kits remain the safer first-coating choice.
SDS not yet on file; safety data is based on ingredient chemistry only · and the chemistry itself has not been disclosed. Carbon Flex is absent from Nexgen's SDS index at support.getnexgen.com, which lists 17 other Nexgen SDSs. No GHS signal word, hazard codes, or pictograms can be confirmed, so no PPE tier is asserted here. Environment sits at 7.0 · the rubric base with no confirmable deductions or credits; the 5.0 health already reflects the unverifiable chemistry, so no extra penalty is applied to environment.
Nexgen markets Carbon Flex as a 3-year coating, with up to 6 years when paired with their separate Ceramic Spray as a quarterly maintenance product. Carbon Flex launched November 2023 · under 30 months on market · and the community track record is still thin, with no multi-year community follow-up data on r/AutoDetailing or Detailing World. The label's durability claim cannot be tested against independent long-term data yet. Buyers wanting a community-verified 3-year coating should consider established SiO₂ kits with multi-year forum follow-up threads.
The 50 mL Amazon kit includes the bottle of Carbon Flex and one microfiber applicator pad. The manufacturer recommends clay-bar decontamination and an IPA panel wipe before application · neither is included in the kit. Buyers who don't already own a clay bar and IPA panel wipe will need to purchase those separately.
As of May 2026, Carbon Flex is not on Nexgen's published SDS index at support.getnexgen.com/material-safety-data-sheets/, which lists 17 other Nexgen car-care SDSs. No Carbon Flex SDS surfaced via msdsdigital.com, ChemicalSafety.com, the Amazon document slots, or general web search. Without a verified SDS, no GHS hazard classifications can be confirmed, so the health score is held at 5.0/10 per site policy. A direct request to support@getnexgen.com for the Carbon Flex SDS is the pending follow-up; the health score will be revised once the SDS is on file.
Unknown. The manufacturer's marketing language describes 'carbon-based nanotechnology' but does not disclose ingredient chemistry, and no SDS has been located for Carbon Flex. The `contains_pfas: false` flag in our data reflects the absence of confirmed PFAS evidence, not a verified PFAS-free certification. When a Carbon Flex SDS becomes available, this field will be re-evaluated against the SDS §3 ingredient disclosure.
No. Ceramic Spray is a spray-and-wipe maintenance coating with months of durability; Nexgen publishes an SDS for it. Carbon Flex is sold as a longer-cure multi-year coating with a bottle-and-applicator format, and it is the only Nexgen consumer car-care product without a published SDS on the brand's SDS index. The two products have different application formats, different durability claims, and different chemistry per the manufacturer's positioning.
