“H318 (serious eye damage Cat 1) in SDS §2 — causes serious eye damage. H314 (skin corrosion Cat 1B) in SDS §2 also forces eyes: required via GHS05 corrosion pathway. SDS §8 specifies 'chemical goggles (if splashing is possible)' with CSA Z94.3 standard.”

“No inhalation H-code in SDS §2 (no H334, H335, H331). CarCareTruth's Analysis
Last reviewed May 15, 2026
TL;DR Forum members tracking daily drivers consistently report 2–3 years of effective water-beading — in line with Gyeon's 36-month claim. The immediate-wipe format eliminates flash-timing pressure. DANGER signal word from the petroleum-solvent carrier — SDS §8 specifies chemical-resistant gloves and chemical goggles; apply outdoors or with the garage door open.
What it is and how it performs
Mohs EVO bonds a ceramic layer that sheds water, resists iron fallout and bug splatter, and maintains a slick gloss for years. Degrease with a panel wipe (not included — buy separately), load the included applicator, wipe a section, and wipe off immediately — no flash window. Community reviewers at 12 months report strong beading and easy-clean contamination resistance consistent with the 3-year label claim.
Who should buy this — and who should skip it
Best for home detailers who want multi-year protection without flash-timing pressure. Skip it if DANGER-rated chemistry is a concern — the petroleum-solvent carrier requires gloves and goggles per SDS §8 and outdoor or fully-vented application conditions.
Safety and environmental impact
H314 (severe skin burns) and H318 (serious eye damage) are chemistry-mandated from the naphtha carrier. SDS §8 specifies butyl rubber gloves and chemical goggles; apply away from ignition sources with adequate ventilation — the 40°C flash point creates flammable vapor in enclosed spaces. SDS §8 states breathing protection is not required under normal use. H411 marine pollutant — keep applicator runoff away from storm drains. No PFAS: SDS §3 lists no fluorinated ingredients.
Frequently asked questions
How long does Gyeon Q2 Mohs EVO actually last on a daily driver?▾
The manufacturer claims up to 36 months with one layer and 48 months with two layers. Forum members tracking daily drivers at the 12-month mark consistently report strong water-beading and contamination resistance. The 3-year figure is plausible for a well-prepped surface with regular maintenance washes, and community reviews align with the claim — unlike some coatings where the label overstates durability by 2× or more. For a heavily-used daily driver in harsh conditions, expect 2–3 years with one layer.
What makes the Mohs EVO application different from other ceramic coatings?▾
Most ceramic coatings require a 1–5 minute flash window before wiping. The Mohs EVO uses an immediate-wipe format — apply a thin layer to a section and wipe off immediately, before any flashing or rainbow occurs. This approach eliminates the timing pressure that causes high spots on conventional coatings, making it one of the more forgiving applications in the category. The tradeoff is that you must work in smaller sections and move more quickly.
Is Gyeon Q2 Mohs EVO safe to use in a closed garage?▾
The SDS classifies the product as a DANGER formulation with a 40°C flash point. The naphtha carrier can build up vapors in enclosed spaces that are both flammable and irritating. SDS §7 specifies applying with adequate ventilation and away from ignition sources. Work outdoors or with the garage door fully open — a standard two-car garage with all doors open is acceptable; a closed or single-vehicle garage with limited airflow is not.
Does Gyeon Q2 Mohs EVO require a panel wipe before application?▾
Yes. The application instructions specify thoroughly degreasing the paint before applying the coating. A dedicated panel wipe (IPA solution or equivalent degreaser) is required to remove any residual polish oils, silicone contamination, or fingerprints. The coating bonds directly to the clear coat, so any contamination trapped beneath it will be permanently sealed in. The kit does not include a panel wipe — budget for one separately.
Why does the Mohs EVO say 'fluoro modified polysilazane' — does it contain PFAS?▾
No. SDS §3 lists no fluorinated ingredients. The 'fluoro modified' terminology in the marketing refers to a modification of the polysilazane chemistry at the molecular synthesis level — not to fluorinated silane additives of the type that generate PFAS concerns. SDS §2 additionally states the product's components do not meet the criteria for classification as PBT (persistent, bioaccumulative, toxic) or vPvB substances. The SDS ingredient list confirms no PFAS content.

Easy to install, Great shine.
Great product, I just installed on my second car, plus I installed on the hoods and roofs of the dailies....holding up great, still beading when dirty...Very easy to install, good slickness, great shine, so far good durability. To install. clean car good, get a short pile micro fiber, for leveling and a longer pile towel for buffing.Take the applicator pad put on Some product work a 12X12 area or smaller, I like to cross hatch, all parallel strokes then vertical strokes very quickly, to ensure 100% coverage.Let dry roughly 15 seconds {depending on temp} then it will sweat then start to evaporate, and level off with the short pile towel overlapping the work area to blend. if its too sticky you waited too long.Wait 20 seconds more, and buff dry.Rinse and repeat. maybe do a final buff of the panel and move to the next panel.Let cure 24-48 hours and your done. ( my daily driven car sat outside over night, got dew on it and went to work the next day, 3 months still holding up)You can then add a top coat if you want....I top it off with their ceramic detailer and it adds some shine and slickness. Then I maintain this top coat.So far i love it, I love the fast cure time makes it easy to install and the shine is very good.
