TL;DR DOT 3, Ford spec WSS-M6C65-A1, with dry boiling point documented in the SDS above 500°F · well above the 401°F floor. Wet boiling point is consistent with the DOT 3 minimum of 284°F, providing no margin above the spec floor; that is the honest wet-performance picture.
Motorcraft PM1C is the OEM brake fluid for Ford and Lincoln vehicles, certified to DOT 3 per FMVSS 116 and Ford spec WSS-M6C65-A1. DOT 3 requires a dry boiling point of at least 401°F and a wet minimum of 284°F. The SDS documents PM1C's dry boiling point above 500°F, a wide margin over that floor. Brake fluids absorb moisture over time, reducing heat resistance; the wet boiling point is consistent with the DOT 3 minimum, with no buffer above the spec floor. For Ford owners doing a reservoir fill or full flush, this is the factory-spec product. Early owner feedback is positive, but the review base is still modest, so treat the verdict as provisional.
The right buyer is a Ford or Lincoln owner doing a brake fluid change or top-off who wants the OEM-specified product by part number. Stock daily drivers operated under normal conditions rarely stress wet boiling points near the floor. Skip this for track use, towing-heavy applications, or any vehicle where sustained heavy braking creates elevated heat loads; a DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 fluid with a documented wet boiling point above 310°F provides a meaningful safety buffer in those scenarios.
The SDS carries a WARNING signal word, driven by H319 (eye irritation, Cat 2A). SDS §8 specifies safety glasses and chemical-resistant gloves; the H319 classification means splash protection is relevant during caliper bleeding and pressure-bleed operations. Brake fluid is drain-destined: old fluid collected during a flush cannot go down a household drain or storm sewer and requires proper disposal at a recycling center or auto-parts store. The sweet taste of brake fluid is a documented attractant for pets and children; store sealed in a location inaccessible to both. H412 (chronic aquatic toxicity Cat 3) appears in SDS §12 · keep waste fluid out of storm drains.
