CarCareTruth's Analysis
Last reviewed May 25, 2026
TL;DR OEM-precision fit for 2010–2012 Ford Fusion, 2010–2011 Mercury Milan, and 2010–2012 Lincoln MKZ — community-confirmed seated fit across all three platforms with no force or adjustment. Multi-layer synthetic media (no activated carbon layer, no odor control); Ford OEM interval 15,000–20,000 miles with community-confirmed media integrity at the stated interval.
What it is and how it performs
The FP-67 is Ford's OEM cabin air filter for the 2010–2012 Fusion, 2010–2011 Mercury Milan, and 2010–2012 Lincoln MKZ platforms, built with three synthetic media layers (PP outer, PES middle, APOA inner) for standard particle filtration. No activated carbon layer is present, so odors and VOCs pass through. No test standard is cited for Motorcraft's brand-level 99% efficiency claim. Ford's OEM maintenance schedule specifies a 15,000–20,000 mile interval — above the 12,000-mile category baseline. Community reviewers confirm intact, functioning media at that interval; one 30,000-mile swap report describes the old filter as fully saturated but structurally sound.
Who should buy this — and who should skip it
Right pick for owners of 2010–2012 Ford Fusion, 2010–2011 Mercury Milan, or 2010–2012 Lincoln MKZ who want a genuine OEM replacement at the stated Ford service interval. The 4.6★ community track record and multi-platform fitment confirmation make this a low-risk purchase for those vehicles. Skip if you need odor control or allergen reduction beyond basic particle capture — no activated carbon layer means no VOC or odor absorption; look for a multi-layer activated-carbon option for those needs. Skip if your vehicle is outside the confirmed fitment list — an unconfirmed fit risks bypass gaps.
Safety and environmental impact
Passive replacement component — multi-layer synthetic fiber filter with no chemical exposure pathway during installation. The Prop 65 warning appears on the Amazon listing; the specific trigger substance is not identified in available product data, and normal installation does not create meaningful consumer exposure. Synthetic PP/PES media is landfill-bound at end of service; the cardboard frame is theoretically separable for recycling, though no manufacturer disposal guidance is provided.
Frequently asked questions
What vehicles does the Motorcraft FP-67 fit?▾
Community-confirmed fits include 2010–2012 Ford Fusion (SE and SEL trims confirmed; 3.0L V6 confirmed by community review), 2010–2011 Mercury Milan, and 2010–2012 Lincoln MKZ. Amazon's compatibility tool occasionally shows this filter as incompatible for some 2012 Fusion trims — at least one verified reviewer confirmed this is an Amazon catalog data error and the FP-67 is listed correctly on Ford's own website. Vehicles before 2010 (2006–2009 Ford Fusion) did not include a factory cabin air filter housing in standard configuration.
Does the FP-67 have an activated carbon layer for odor control?▾
No. The filter edge stamp reads 'PP, PES, APOA' — polypropylene outer, polyester middle, and an APOA inner layer. APOA is not activated carbon granules; no odor absorption capability is confirmed for the FP-67. This is a standard particle filtration replacement, not an odor-control filter.
What is the service interval for the FP-67?▾
Ford's OEM maintenance schedule specifies 15,000–20,000 miles or 12 months for vehicles in the FP-67 fitment range. This interval is above the standard 12,000-mile category baseline. Amazon verified-purchase reviewers confirm media remains intact through the rated interval — one reviewer replacing at 30,000 miles found the old filter 'completely black with soot,' consistent with functioning filtration through the service period.
Is the 'Made in USA' stamp on the filter accurate?▾
There is a discrepancy in available data. The filter edge stamp visible in the product image reads 'MADE IN USA,' but the Amazon listing feature bullets state 'Country of Origin: China.' These are contradictory sources. The physical product marking and the Amazon catalog listing may reflect different production periods. Country of origin is omitted from this page's structured data pending resolution.
What does the Prop 65 warning mean for this filter?▾
The California Prop 65 warning appears on the Amazon listing. The specific trigger substance is not identified in available product data — likely cardboard adhesives or trace manufacturing chemicals common in synthetic auto parts. Normal filter installation and operation do not create a meaningful consumer exposure pathway to any Prop 65-listed substance.

Good filter, good price, but annoying install...
For whatever reason, this is now popping up saying that it does NOT work in my girlfriend's 2012 Fusion... (SEL, 3.0L V6, FWD, if it matters), but I can assure you that it does. It is also listed as the correct part number (FP-67) on Ford's website. This is the correct fit and seems to work pretty well.Install is a little tricky... well, if you're a ham-fisted dumdum like me. Don't forget to remove all of the items from the glove box BEFORE you completely release the retaining cable... I did things in the wrong order - squeezed body of glove box to get past the bump stops, then struggled to remove the retaining cable clip, so when I finally DID get it lose, it swung a full glove box of stuff onto the floor... THEN, when I went to remove the little cover (you have to pry a small tab on each end and pull it slightly to get it off of the tab), I accidentally broke one of the tabs... and can't find it. No clue where it is. Doesn't matter... wasn't going to replace it, and if it rattles, that's my girlfriend's problem. :) Anyway, aside from that, and weaseling the old filter out and stuffing the new one in, it was a breeze. Hopefully that paragraph helps at least one person to avoid some of the frustration that I went through. My Charger was MUCH easier... just a snap-on cover on the cowl just below the wipers...Anyway... I've used these Motorcraft ones a couple of times now and they seem to work well. Price was decent, no complaints about the filter, just the placement of it.
