Griot's Garage Rinseless Wash

Plain Rinseless Wash (SKU 10479, this page) is wash chemistry only — concentrated wash agents in a water carrier, no protection topper. Rinseless Wash & Wax (SKU 10818) is the same wash chemistry with an added wax topper that leaves a short-term hydrophobic film. Buy plain Rinseless Wash if you wax separately or use a ceramic coating; buy the Wax variant if you want the wash and a quick protection refresh in one step.

Griot's instructions are 1 ounce of concentrate per 2 gallons of water — about a 1:256 ratio. A 35 oz bottle yields roughly 35 wash buckets at the recommended dilution. The concentrate is the form Griot's actively sells; the gallon variant is the same concentrate in a larger bottle, not a ready-to-use solution.

Griot's markets the product as compatible with ceramic coatings, and the formula contains no abrasives or stripping agents. No independent third-party coating manufacturer has formally endorsed the product. Bucket-method dilution at 1:256 produces a mild working solution unlikely to degrade a cured ceramic coating in normal use.

Griot's has not published a Safety Data Sheet for SKU 10479 — the brand site links to the wax variant's SDS but not to one for the plain Rinseless Wash. Without a verified GHS SDS, mixture-level hazard classifications cannot be confirmed. Per CarCareTruth's no-SDS rule, health is set to 3.0 with a 'NO SDS' label until an SDS is obtained. The CA Right-to-Know ingredient list confirms two preservative asthmagens (CMIT and MIT), which would carry forward as a deduction once an SDS classification is on file.

The Amazon listing does not show a Prop 65 warning, and the CA Right-to-Know ingredient list for SKU 10479 contains no Prop 65–listed substances at disclosed concentrations. The current 'no Prop 65' determination is based on the Right-to-Know sheet rather than a verified SDS Section 15.
