The manufacturer's Safety Data Sheet classifies this product with one or more GHS Category 1 health hazards — the most severe tier. The hazard statements in quotes below are the verbatim GHS language from the SDS, as required by OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard. The line under each statement translates the GHS classification into plain language.
- H304 “May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways.”
GHS Category 1 aspiration toxicity — thin, oily liquids can slip into the lungs if swallowed, causing chemical pneumonia.
- H314 “Causes severe skin burns and eye damage.”
GHS Category 1 skin corrosion — classified as causing irreversible skin damage on contact.
If swallowed, inhaled, or splashed in eyes:
Call Poison Control immediately at 1-800-222-1222 (US, 24/7, free) and have the product container with you. Poison Control's standing guidance is to not induce vomiting after chemical exposure; they will direct first-aid steps based on the specific product.

CarCareTruth's Analysis
Last reviewed May 26, 2026
TL;DR Amazon reviews confirm 18–24 months of effective water-beading on daily drivers; the manufacturer's 5-year claim is unsupported. Beading and gloss hold up, but scratch protection is weak. SDS §2 classifies the mixture as skin-corrosive (H314) — gloves required.
What it is and how it performs
Carbon Force bonds a ceramic silane layer to clear coat, producing tight beading and mirror-like gloss. The kit includes three microsuede applicators; buffing cloth and panel-wipe are not included, so source both before application. Work section-by-section and buff completely: incomplete buffing causes high spots requiring polishing compound to correct. Multiple Amazon verified-purchase reviews confirm 18–24 months of active beading; the "up to 5 years" label claim has no community corroboration. Scratch protection is the weak point: a long-term reviewer with four-stage prep and a two-day cure found only good sheeting with no meaningful protective benefit.
Who should buy this — and who should skip it
Best for experienced home detailers who want 18–24 months of hydrophobics and gloss and can work a strict section-by-section buffing protocol. Skip it if you are new to ceramics — high spots require a polisher to fix, and the missing kit items add steps. A spray-on SiO2 kit with a wider flash window is a better entry point.
Safety and environmental impact
SDS §2 signal word is DANGER; skin corrosion (H314) and skin sensitizer (H317) at mixture level — gloves and eye protection required per those GHS codes. The SDS precautionary statement for H304 specifies: do not induce vomiting; contact a poison center immediately. Naphtha and amyl acetate carriers put estimated VOC at 350–550 g/L; apply outdoors or with the garage door open. H412 (aquatic chronic) is classified at mixture level — keep unused product and rinse water away from storm drains.
Frequently asked questions
How long does Carbon Force actually last?▾
Community long-term reviews on Amazon (374 ratings) consistently confirm 18–24 months of effective water-beading on daily drivers. Multiple verified-purchase reviewers who applied the coating 2 years prior report it is still holding. The manufacturer claims 'up to 5 years' — that is a best-case figure the community data does not support. Plan on 18–24 months on a regularly washed daily driver.
Is Carbon Force hard to apply?▾
It requires careful attention to flash timing and section size. Community reviewers document that incomplete buffing produces high spots that require polishing compound to remove — not a wipe-off correction. The kit includes 3 microsuede applicators but no buffing/leveling cloth and no panel-wipe solution; buyers need to source both separately. Not a beginner-friendly first ceramic coating.
Does Carbon Force contain PFAS?▾
No. SDS Section 3 lists naphtha petroleum fractions, amyl acetate (pentyl acetate), and an alkylalkoxysiloxane ceramic active — no fluorinated ingredients. contains_pfas is confirmed false from SDS §3.
Why does the SDS show DANGER with skin corrosion (H314)?▾
SDS §2 classifies the mixture as Skin Corrosion Cat 1 (H314) at mixture level — driven by the combination of naphtha petroleum fractions and amyl acetate at the concentrations listed in §3. H314 is a GHS01 designation (corrosive) and is the most significant hazard code in the SDS. Gloves are required per the SDS classification — not optional.
Does Carbon Force have a California Prop 65 warning?▾
No. SDS Section 15 explicitly states this product contains no chemicals known to California to cause cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm. prop65_warning is confirmed false from SDS §15.

Amazing Product as long as you do the work!
First of all, I have a 2018 Audi Q7. So, the paint isn’t exactly new. I’ve seen a lot of reviews on what it looks like after applied initially. Well, I applied this on 12/23/23. It is now 01/04/24 and this is after the first wash. So, you get the almost 2 weeks after pics.I will say it does a phenomenal job. Even washing is easier. My microfiber mit feels like it glides over the paint and what used to take lots of scrubbing comes off easily now. I use a blower to dry and water just beads off so easily. You must do the prep work like everyone else says. Temp ranged from 45-50 degrees. I went…1. Wash2. Iron remover3. Clay bar4. PolishAll on the first day. Next day, in the garage, I applied the 50/50 alcohol/water to remove all other contaminants and then applied the carbon force. It was pretty easy. MAKE SURE you use multiple microfiber towels when buffing off! At minimum 3. They will get excess on them and make it harder when buffing off. Here’s where I would change one thing. I watched multiple videos from Chemical Guys wondering when to apply the 2nd coat. All I found was one video saying 3 hours. DON’T! I did and that was the hardest part. Wait at least 12 hours to apply the 2nd coat. I was able to apply the 2nd coat when I did it just was extremely hard to buff off. Very tacky. Waited until the next day and then did all the rest of the glass. Gave it basically 3 days to cure and this is what you see. You obviously don’t have to wait that long. But, I had the time being it was Christmas and everyone was at our house. (Yes, I wanted to be outside while all the craziness was going on inside) I used about 3/4 of the bottle.Hope this helps someone. It is a great product. You just have to have the time and patience
