Best One-Step Polish: Reviewed and Ranked

One-step polishes split the difference between a compound and a finishing polish — enough cut to knock down light swirls and oxidation, but a fine enough finish that you don't need to follow up with a refining pass. Reach for one when the paint is dull but not trashed: a daily driver with a few years of wash-induced micro-marring, or a car you're prepping for wax or sealant on a Saturday. Don't expect it to fix deep scratches you can catch a fingernail in — those need a real compound and a cutting pad. The honest tradeoff is time: one product, one pad, half the labor of a two-step.
