TL;DR Community reviews from boat, motorcycle, and small-engine owners confirm solid single-season E10 protection; multiple reviewers report 12–20 month storage, though the 24-month claim is not corroborated. The 1 oz per 16 gallon treat rate is outstanding for the category. H304 aspiration hazard is in the SDS — do not induce vomiting if ingested; seek medical attention.
What it is and how it performs
Star Tron uses a proprietary enzyme blend in a petroleum-derived solvent carrier to prevent fuel oxidation and fuel degradation from ethanol-blended pump gas. The manufacturer claims 24-month protection; community evidence confirms reliable single-season use with credible 12–20 month reports from marine and small-engine owners. The label targets E10 phase separation, and the Amazon review corpus shows no E10 failure pattern. At 1 oz per 16 gallons, the dose rate is one of the most economical in the category.
Who should buy this — and who should skip it
Best for small-engine owners, motorcycle riders, and boat operators storing equipment 4–10 months — particularly those treating large fuel volumes. Skip if storing for under a month; short-duration storage does not require stabilization.
Safety and environmental impact
DANGER signal word is driven by H304 (aspiration hazard from the petroleum-derived solvent carrier) — do not induce vomiting if swallowed; seek medical attention. High estimated VOC warrants ventilation when pouring. No Prop 65 substances confirmed in SDS §15. H411 chronic aquatic toxicity is classified at ingredient level — dispose of unused concentrate via fuel or chemical recycling, not down the drain.
Frequently asked questions
How long does Star Tron actually keep fuel fresh?▾
The manufacturer claims up to 24 months. Community evidence from Amazon verified reviewers and boating/small-engine forums confirms reliable single-season protection (6–10 months) consistently. Multiple reviewers report successful 12–20 month storage in generators, outboards, and motorcycles, though independently corroborated multi-year outcomes are limited. For confident seasonal storage through a typical winter, the evidence is solid.
Does Star Tron work with E10 ethanol pump gas?▾
Yes — the label explicitly targets ethanol fuel problems and phase separation prevention. No verified community reports of E10 phase separation failures were found in the Amazon review corpus at time of authoring. The proprietary enzyme blend is not disclosed in the SDS, so the active chemistry cannot be independently verified.
What is the treatment ratio for Star Tron?▾
1 oz treats 16 gallons for regular use (from the product label). This is one of the most economical treat rates in the category — an 8 oz bottle treats 128 gallons.
Is Star Tron safe for 2-cycle engines?▾
Yes — the manufacturer explicitly states it is safe for all engines including 2-cycle pre-mix. This is confirmed on the product listing and manufacturer website.

The best fuel treatment I've used for stabilizing fuel long-term and preventing clogs/gumming in small fuel jets!
I first discovered Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment on the shelf at a marine parts store many years ago. Unsatisfied with the performance of Sta-bil, I asked a store clerk what he recommended and he showed me Star Tron. He said it has an active enzyme that "eats away" at gunk and deposits in the fuel. I admit, I was skeptical, but I gave it a try. All I can say is wow! A decade later and this stuff has never let me down. What's so great about it? Whereas Sta-bil works great for fuel that may sit up to 8 months or so, I found that any fuel stored for a year or more would cause problems. I have a very efficient 3.5 hp outboard motor, a small push mower, and a garage-kept motorcycle that all tend to go a long, long time on a single tank of gas due to intermittent or highly seasonal use. Thus, it is not strange for either those engine tanks or my fuel storage containers to have fuel sit more than a year before being fully utilized. After repeated gumming problems with Sta-bil stabilized gas, I switched to Star Tron and ALL of my problems went away. In fact, I poured this stuff into the tank of my outboard which was becoming increasingly difficult to pull-start (the small fuel jets clog very easily) and a few days later, it resumed starting up like a new motor! Thus, I believe the claims that there is an active enzyme in Star Tron that eats away at deposits. This stuff doesn't just stabilize the fuel; it can help clear small partial clogs like I had in my outboard! After the success with my outboard in particular, I started putting it in my push mower, weed whip, and motorcycle. In all cases, it has worked like a charm with no adverse effects to performance. The gas just seems to stay fresh and keep the motors running efficiently, with no backfire problems, smoking, clogs, or other symptoms of fuel-degradation. I also like that you don't have to be very precise in the measurement. Overtreating the fuel does not seem to be a problem (except that you will go through a bottle quicker, of course... I do still try to mix approximately to the specified proportions; I just don't bother getting out a measuring cup to be exact). All in all, I'm totally confident in this stuff. It bears mentioning that I have never had trouble with ethanol in my outboard either. The Star Tron appears to discourage it from separating, as I've never had to flush out the tank--even after a year of no use--due to bad/separated fuel. Highly recommended!
