“SDS Section 2 confirms not classified as hazardous. Safety glasses are common-sense protection during pump-spray application near the face · the trigger is the spray form factor, not a confirmed eye hazard code in SDS §2.”

“No inhalation H-codes in SDS §2; formula classified as non-hazardous. Standard outdoor or ventilated-garage application does not require respiratory protection. Enclosed-space use (sealed garage with no air movement) warrants situational awareness.”

TL;DR Solid on light dust and fingerprints with adequate lubrication · the hydrophobic layer adds a few weeks of water-beading protection. Technique matters on darker paint; heavier contamination needs a soap-and-bucket wash.
Spray onto a panel, wipe clean with a microfiber, repeat · a full-vehicle pass uses 6·8 oz. The formula leaves a thin hydrophobic layer that beads water for 2·4 weeks per community reports. Lubricity is adequate for lightly dusty paint. Cleaning is genuinely bounded: Mothers markets this for light contamination only, and community evidence confirms it performs as labelled. The 24 oz size is the standard format.
Casual car owners wanting a quick maintenance wash with a hydrophobic bonus, especially those with no hose access. Skip it if your vehicle has visible road film, mud, or salt buildup · that is a soap-and-bucket job · or if you wash frequently enough to justify a concentrate (Optimum No Rinse offers much better economy).
The SDS (rev. May 2015) classifies the product as not hazardous under OSHA HCS 2012 · no signal word, no GHS pictograms, no hazard codes. Safety glasses are common sense during spray application near the face; no respiratory protection is needed under normal outdoor or ventilated use. The waterless format eliminates 60·100 gallons of hose water per wash.
It is designed for between-wash maintenance, not as a substitute for a full soap-and-bucket wash. Use it on lightly soiled paint · dust, fingerprints, light pollen · and for visible road film, mud, or salt buildup a hose-and-soap wash is the right tool. Used as intended, it cleans light contamination and adds a short-term hydrophobic layer.
No. The protection applied per spray is very thin and any prior layer is largely lifted and renewed during each wipe. Community reports describe consistent results across regular use without buildup or hazing. The hydrophobic effect typically lasts 2·4 weeks per typical use.
It is safe on lightly dusty dark paint per community reports, but the lubricity is technique-sensitive · apply enough product to keep the panel wet during wipe, use a clean microfiber per panel, and avoid using on heavier contamination. Dark paint reveals any marring more readily, so the bounded use case (lightly soiled only) is especially important.
Mothers states the product is safe on glass, plastic trim, chrome, and clear coat. The hydrophobic layer on glass may slightly affect water-beading behavior but does not impair visibility under normal use; for streak-free glass results, a dedicated glass cleaner is preferable as a follow-up.
