From the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 8
“H320 (Eye Irritation Cat 2B) is in SDS §2. Pump-spray application can generate mist that contacts eyes. While Cat 2B is mild irritation, the spray delivery method makes eye contact a realistic pathway.”

From the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 8
“SDS §8 states gloves are 'not normally required' and recommends impervious gloves only for prolonged or repeated contact. No H315 or H317 in SDS §2. 2-butoxyethanol at ≤5% can cause skin drying on repeated contact.”

This product ranks #3 of 6 in Panel Prep / IPA Wipe.
Last reviewed June 9, 2026
TL;DR Reliable surface prep for coating and wax application: strips polish residue, sealant, and oils from corrected paint without leaving streaks, and adds anti-static lubricating agents that protect the paint during the wipe step. Owners confirm clean, residue-free panels ready for coating.
Wipe Out Surface Cleanser Spray is a water-based panel prep product for the final cleaning step before ceramic coatings, sealants, or wax. Spray on the panel, wipe in one direction with a clean microfiber towel, then follow with a dry buff pass to confirm the surface is film-free. The formula includes anti-static lubricating agents (Modified Silicone System, Morpholine Oleate) that help prevent debris from scratching fresh paint during the wipe, which separates it from a plain IPA solution. Owners consistently report clean, haze-free panels with no fisheye complaints in coating applications.
Best for detailers running a full correction-to-coating workflow who want a convenient ready-to-use surface prep rather than mixing their own IPA solution. The anti-static lubricant formula is particularly useful for anyone working in a garage environment with airborne dust. Skip it if you are just applying wax on uncorrected paint: a spray detailer handles that step adequately.
The GHS SDS (rev. 2019) classifies the product as WARNING with H303 (lowest oral toxicity category, ingestion only) and H320 (mild eye irritation). No GHS pictogram applies. No inhalation H-codes. The "DANGER!" text on the consumer bottle is CPSC consumer labeling, not a GHS classification. Eye protection is reasonable for pump-spray application. Estimated total VOC is below 100 g/L, well under the 250 g/L high-VOC threshold.
The product is formulated specifically for pre-coating prep. The anti-static lubricating agents in the formula help lift polish residue and surface oils in a single wipe pass. For ceramic coatings that require a completely oil-free surface, follow up with a dry buffing pass to confirm the panel is haze-free before pouring the coating.
Diluted IPA at 70% is purely a solvent. Chemical Guys Wipe Out adds anti-static and lubricating agents (Modified Silicone System, Morpholine Oleate) that help prevent airborne dust and microfiber debris from scratching the panel during the wipe step. The tradeoff is a slightly slower flash-off compared to straight IPA.
No. The 'DANGER!' text on the back of the bottle is a CPSC consumer product label, which uses different hazard thresholds than GHS. The official GHS Safety Data Sheet (rev. 2019) classifies the product with a WARNING signal word for two mild hazards: H303 (may be harmful if swallowed) and H320 (mild eye irritation). The SDS lists no GHS pictogram as applicable and shows the product as non-flammable with no flash point.
The formula is water-based with glycol ether cleaner at low concentration (no aggressive ketones, toluene, or MEK). Community detailers consistently use it on fresh corrected paint, factory clearcoat, and painted plastic trim without documented adverse outcomes. Standard panel wipe application, one to two passes, leaves no documented clearcoat compatibility issues.
Shake well, spray onto the panel, and wipe in one direction with a clean premium microfiber towel. Buff off residue immediately before the product hazes. Follow with a final dry buff pass to confirm no lubricant film remains. The product is ready-to-use; do not dilute.
