Brilliant Glaze

A glaze fills in light swirl marks and micro-scratches optically — it doesn't remove them like a polish does, but makes them temporarily invisible by filling with light-reflecting polymers and oils. The result is enhanced depth and a wet-look gloss that shows up dramatically on dark paint. Glazes are typically used as a pre-wax step after polishing.

After polishing, before waxing or sealant. The sequence is: decon → polish (if needed) → glaze → wax/sealant. The glaze maximizes gloss on a corrected surface, and the wax locks in the look and adds durability. Using glaze before polishing defeats the purpose since polishing would remove the glaze fill.

H361fd is a Cat 2 'suspected' classification — meaning there's some animal study evidence but not definitive confirmation in humans. For most adult users, brief occasional application with ventilation and gloves poses low risk. The precaution is for pregnant users or anyone trying to conceive: minimize exposure time, maximize ventilation, and consider wearing a respirator or delegating the task.

D5 (decamethylcyclopentasiloxane, CAS 541-02-6) is the primary carrier — it makes up 30–60% of the formula. D5 evaporates after application, leaving the active glaze ingredients on the paint. The concern is environmental: D5 is classified PBT (persistent, bioaccumulative, toxic to aquatic environments). It's restricted in wash-off cosmetics in the EU. For a stay-on automotive glaze, the aquatic exposure is minimal, but it's worth knowing.
