WIX Filters was founded in Gastonia, North Carolina, in 1939 and has been supplying filtration products to original equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket for over 85 years. The brand was acquired by MANN+HUMMEL Group — one of the world's leading filtration specialists — making WIX part of a global filtration portfolio that includes OEM supply contracts with major vehicle manufacturers across Europe, Asia, and North America.

WIX's air filtration media uses phenolic resin treated enhanced cellulose construction with embossed pleats and pleat stabilization beads. The company publishes filtration efficiency data in accordance with ISO 5011 testing standards, with performance at or above 99% particle capture at medium test dust across its automotive air filter line.
