Shell plc is a multinational energy company headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands, with substantial US lubricant manufacturing through Shell Oil Products US (Houston, TX). Shell is one of the world's largest lubricants suppliers by volume.

In the US automotive aftermarket, the Shell-branded lubricant line is dominated by Shell Rotella — a heavy-duty diesel engine oil family with broad OEM coverage (Cummins, Detroit, Volvo, Mack, Caterpillar) used by both commercial fleets and consumer diesel-pickup owners. Rotella T6 is the full-synthetic tier; T5 is the synthetic blend; T4 is the conventional. Shell also markets gasoline-engine oils under the Pennzoil brand (acquired 2002) — Pennzoil and Shell Rotella are sister brands with separate formulations and certification paths.
