TL;DR API certified to ISO 22241 per Mopar manufacturer documentation, the factory-specified DEF for Ram, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Chrysler diesel vehicles with SCR systems. Includes an attachable nozzle suited to the small-diameter DEF fill port on Stellantis platforms; no crystallization complaints in the owner community. Priced significantly above equivalent API-certified commodity DEF available at retail.
Mopar 68056278AC is the factory-specified diesel exhaust fluid for Stellantis-platform diesel vehicles, the product the owner's manual points to by name and part number. It meets ISO 22241 (32.5% urea in deionized water), and the Ram 2019 Diesel Supplement confirms API DEF Certification. No published third-party laboratory concentration test has been found; compliance is documented by manufacturer records rather than an independent audit trail. The 2.5-gallon jug is the primary consumer size; Mopar also offers a 1-gallon (68035704AC) and a 55-gallon drum (68035700AC) for fleet use. An attachable nozzle is included to address the small-diameter fill port found on Stellantis diesel platforms. Owner reviews contain no reports of SCR fault codes or concentration failures; objections are entirely about price relative to commodity alternatives.
The case for Mopar DEF is peace of mind: part number match to the owner's manual, OEM sourcing, and no questions about compatibility with dealer warranty service. Owners who prefer to use exactly what the manufacturer specifies will find this straightforward. Skip it if cost per gallon matters; equivalent API-certified DEF is available at Walmart, Costco, and truck stops for a fraction of the Amazon price, and any API-certified ISO 22241 product is functionally identical. This product is only for diesel vehicles with SCR systems; it has no application in gasoline or hybrid-electric engines.
No GHS hazard codes appear in the Chrysler SDS; the pre-GHS legacy document lists no hazardous ingredients, and the chemistry (urea-water per ISO 22241) carries no hazard classification. Eye protection during fill is reasonable if there is splash risk on overflow, but the small DEF fill port on most Stellantis vehicles minimizes this. DEF is consumed in the SCR catalyst converting NOx into nitrogen and water; the urea-water solution is biodegradable, contains no solvents or VOC, and carries no aquatic-toxicity classification.
