The brand describes C4 as 'permanent,' which is accurate only for well-maintained trim — UV exposure, carwash detergent, and oil contamination degrade the silicone bond over time. Trim that has been pre-treated with oil-based dressings may require removal of the old dressing before C4 bonds properly.

C4 does not transfer onto adjacent paint or glass once fully cured. The concern is excess product applied during installation: if any product contacts painted surfaces, it must be wiped away while wet. Dried C4 on paint requires IPA or a solvent-based cleaner to remove. Work in small sections and wipe excess immediately — the 15 ml bottle goes a long way, so overapplication is easy to avoid.

The DANGER signal word comes from H225 (highly flammable liquid and vapour) — a fire and explosion hazard driven by the heptane carrier solvent (flash point approximately −3 °C). This is a physical hazard, not a health classification. There are no health-tier hazard codes (skin sensitizer, respiratory irritant, etc.) in the SDS. The product is safe to handle with gloves and normal precautions; the critical rule is to keep it away from ignition sources and apply outdoors.

C4 is a surface-coating restorer — silicone oligomer dissolved in a heptane carrier. It does not chemically bond into the plastic substrate the way acrylic or polyurethane penetrating polymers do. The heptane carrier evaporates rapidly after application, leaving a bonded silicone layer on the surface. This delivers excellent color depth and long durability but means the trim surface must be clean and dry for the silicone to adhere properly.

The 15 ml bottle is highly concentrated — a few drops applied by foam applicator cover a large trim panel. Most users report the 15 ml size covering a full set of exterior trim pieces (bumpers, side cladding, door handles) multiple times over. The 30 ml size is worth considering for larger vehicles or regular reapplication use.
