Only when: in enclosed space · when spraying
Translated from the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 2
No H319 or H318 in SDS §2 classification · SDS §11 confirms not classified as eye irritant (in vitro tested). Pump-spray inside vehicle cabin at leaning-in posture creates plausible mist-contact pathway. No chemistry-driven classification.
CarCareTruth publishes the cited sources verbatim and does not advise what action a user should take. Consult the full SDS before use.
Only when: prolonged use
Translated from the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 2
No H315 or H317 in SDS §2 classification · SDS §11 confirms not classified as skin irritant or sensitizer. Prolonged manual agitation with a brush creates extended dermal contact. No chemistry-driven classification.
CarCareTruth publishes the cited sources verbatim and does not advise what action a user should take. Consult the full SDS before use.
Only when: in enclosed space
Translated from the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 2
No H335 in SDS §2. Trigger-spray inside vehicle cabin creates pump-spray mist in a semi-enclosed space · a specific non-boilerplate exposure scenario for carpet cleaners.
CarCareTruth publishes the cited sources verbatim and does not advise what action a user should take. Consult the full SDS before use.
No PPE specified in published sources for ventilation. Absence does not imply “not needed” — consult the full Safety Data Sheet.
PPE tiers translate the manufacturer’s SDS and U.S. regulatory standards. Not professional safety advice. How we report safety.
Scope of these PPE tiers. The tiers on this page translate the product's Safety Data Sheet where one is published, plus its ingredient chemistry, into a comparable rating. They describe a formulation, not a situation: a tier is not a safety determination for any specific user, task, quantity, or environment. The manufacturer's label and use instructions govern how the product is handled. Where the product is used at work, the employer's PPE program and hazard assessment under 29 CFR 1910.132 decide what protection is selected, not this page.

TL;DR Handles dried, set-in stains · coffee, pet accidents, red wine, grease · with a spray-agitate-blot technique and no wet-vac required, and it's earned a devoted following among owners. Odor reduction comes from removing the stain, not neutralizing the odor source, so expect partial results on deep pet-urine odors. No fragrance, no rinsing needed, no residue pattern in the community data.
A water-based, fragrance-free RTU trigger spray that lifts stains through surfactant action. No enzyme chemistry · it targets the stain, not the odor source. Buyers hunting deep urine odor should consider a dedicated enzyme formula. Handles a wide range: coffee, red wine, pet accidents, grease, food, blood, and ink are documented by a very large owner base, with month-old set-in stains a consistent community highlight. No wet-vac required; brush-and-blot is sufficient. Test on a hidden area for specialty fabrics · label specifies colorfast materials only.
The SDS (revised July 2023) classifies this product as not hazardous under OSHA HCS · no signal word, no GHS pictograms, no H-codes at the mixture level. SDS §11 confirms not classified as an eye irritant, skin irritant, or sensitizer. Trigger-spray use inside the vehicle cabin creates a semi-enclosed mist scenario; the PPE block documents all three axes as situational based on application context, not chemistry classification. Water-based, zero VOC, no petroleum, and SDS §13 permits sanitary sewer disposal. The one open mark on the health score is a California Prop 65 warning that rides on the product listing. The surfactant here is an ethoxylate alcohol, and the byproduct that most often triggers a Prop 65 warning in that chemistry is 1,4-dioxane, which forms during ethoxylation. The brand's California Ingredient Disclosure says no Prop 65 substance is present, but the SDS itself does not carry an affirmative §15 clearance · it simply lists nothing. Because a live warning cannot be cleared by silence, the score takes the Prop 65 deduction rather than waving it off.
The Folex Instant Carpet Spot Remover Safety Data Sheet (revised July 2023) classifies the product as not hazardous under OSHA HazCom 29 CFR 1910.1200: no signal word, no GHS pictograms, and no hazard (H) codes at the mixture level. Section 9 lists a pH of 8 to 10, VOC content of none, no flash point (water-based), and an odorless profile. Section 11 reports it is not classified as an eye irritant, skin irritant, or sensitizer, and Section 13 permits disposal as normal wastewater.
