CarCareTruth ratings translate the manufacturer's safety sheet. They do not replace the SDS or substitute for a hazard assessment specific to your task.
Health score is for adult use as intended, per the manufacturer's SDS. It does not model child ingestion, accidental spill cleanup, or off-label use. See the safety panel below for full hazard classification, and /disclaimer for the full editorial scope.
GHS hazard codes are quoted from the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet. PPE tiers below translate those codes and the listed ingredient chemistry; they are not CarCareTruth recommendations.

From the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 8
“No product-level eye-irritant H-code in SDS §2 (Health hazards Not Classified at mixture level). Aerosol mist sprayed toward a tilted windshield can reach eye level; safety glasses are a reasonable precaution for overhead application. SDS §8 eye-protection language is generic ('if a risk assessment indicates eye contact is possible').”

From the manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet, Section 8
“No product-level respiratory H-code (no H335/H331/H334) in SDS §2. Aerosol format forces lungs to at least situational per the deicer rubric (aerosol cannot be omitted). Brief outdoor windshield application is naturally ventilated; the edge case is spraying in a closed garage. SDS §8: 'If ventilation is inadequate, suitable respiratory protection must be worn' · generic boilerplate.”

TL;DR Alcohol-based aerosol that melts windshield ice fast; the back of the can rates it to -15C, so the Amazon title's -20C claim is not supported by the on-can text or the data sheet. The formula is not corrosive to paint or rubber seals. The DANGER label is a flammable-aerosol fire warning: the SDS classifies no product-level health hazards, so the real precaution is keeping the pressurised can away from heat and flame.
CarPlan Blue Star clears frost and thin ice quickly at typical winter temperatures; the can states it operates down to -15C, and no independent cold-climate evidence confirms the -20C the listing title advertises. The alcohol-and-water blend evaporates without a corrosive residue, so it will not damage paint or rubber door seals on incidental contact. It is a 21 oz (600 ml) pressurised can, so the practical caution is fire safety.
A good fit for owners dealing with ordinary frost and thin morning ice who want fast, surface-safe clearing from an established brand. Skip it if you park outside in the northern-tier US and need confirmed performance below -15C; higher-alcohol IPA aerosols with verified sub-zero evidence are the better bet for extreme cold.
The Tetrosyl SDS §2 gives this product a DANGER signal word from the H222 extremely-flammable-aerosol classification only; health and environmental hazards are both Not Classified at the mixture level, and the sole pictogram is GHS02 (flame). No skin or eye protection is warranted for normal outdoor use; eye and lung precautions are situational only for the enclosed-garage edge case. Environmentally it sits on a neutral road-runoff pathway with a moderate alcohol VOC load, offset by the SDS §12 confirmation that the product is biodegradable.
The DANGER signal word comes entirely from the H222 'extremely flammable aerosol' physical hazard; it is a fire warning, not a toxicity alarm. The Tetrosyl SDS §2 classifies no product-level health hazards and no environmental hazards, and the only pictogram is GHS02 (flame). Keep the pressurised can away from heat, sparks, and open flames, and never pierce or burn it.
It is an alcohol-based aerosol: ethanol (10-30%) is the main freeze-melting active, with smaller amounts of isopropyl alcohol, ethylene glycol, methanol, an LPG propellant, and a trace of ammonia (per SDS §3). The alcohol blend evaporates cleanly and is not corrosive to paint or rubber seals.
The back of the can states the spray operates down to -15C (about 5F). The Amazon listing title claims -20C, but the manufacturer's own on-can text and data sheet support -15C as the honest operating floor. There is no independent cold-climate community evidence confirming performance at extreme sub-zero US temperatures.
The alcohol-and-water formula evaporates without leaving a corrosive residue, and there are no documented reports of paint etching or seal damage from normal windshield application. It is a glass-applied product; wipe any overspray off paintwork as the directions suggest.
It is a single 21 fl oz (600 ml) aerosol can. Amazon caps the order at 5 cans per order. A 2-pack and a 12-pack of smaller cans exist under separate listings.
