TL;DR 3-ton capacity is self-reported — no third-party load-rating certification is documented. The 5-7/8 inch minimum height fits standard passenger cars and trucks but requires ramps for vehicles with under-6-inch ground clearance. Based on 3,901 community reviews.
What it is and how it performs
A 3-ton alloy steel hydraulic trolley floor jack from BIG RED (Torin Jacks). The 3-ton rating is self-reported; no ASME PASE or equivalent certification is documented. Minimum lifting height is 5-7/8 inches — fits standard cars, crossovers, and trucks but won't slide under lowered vehicles without ramps. Maximum height 20-7/8 inches reaches full-size SUV and truck frame rails. Round cup saddle with inner notch; extra saddle included for higher frame rails. Single-piston pump requires multiple strokes to full height. No widespread hydraulic failure or capacity-failure pattern across 3,900+ community reviews.
Who should buy this
Good fit for home mechanics doing brake, tire, or suspension work on standard-height vehicles. The 5-7/8 inch minimum height rules out lowered cars and sports cars; use a dedicated low-profile jack for that clearance.
Safety and environmental impact
Sealed mechanical tool — no chemical exposure in normal use. Health score: 9.5. The 3-ton capacity is self-reported with no third-party certification; 3,901 community reviews show no load-failure pattern. A California Prop 65 warning is present on the listing; no SDS exists for this tool and the specific trigger chemical cannot be confirmed.

Great Value, Beautiful Tool, and Perfect for Passenger Cars as Well as SUV's
I received my 3-ton jack yesterday. Of course, I checked the hydraulic fluid level right after I removed it from the box (based upon the reviews I read), but everything checked-out. Upon inspection, I couldn't imagine how much more perfect the finish, welds, etc. could be on a floor jack. I've done a lot of DIY on my vehicles over the years, and this is, by far, the nicest jack I've purchased or used. For the money I spent, I feel like I got a great value. Hey, it's "pretty" and red. I can dig it.I put this to immediate use to swap the rear brakes on our 2002 Acura CL. Being a "low profile" vehicle compared to an SUV (not that low, but, still, a passenger car), I found this jack was able to clear well beyond the rear axle to find the "sweet spot" to allow elevation of both wheels simultaneously. I also purchased the Torin T43006 3 Ton SUV Jack Stands because, if you haven't guessed, my other car is a small SUV (2009 Toyota RAV4). I was concerned I might not be able to elevate the Acura high enough to clear the minimum 15.25" height for the jack stands. It wasn't a problem at all. The jack elevated well beyond the need and was quite stable (as I'd expect a 3-ton jack doing a 2-ton's job).I, probably, spent more time inspecting the jack than actually using it because of all the concerns posted in the reviews. However, I can see this working well for both vehicles (that extension pipe is great, solid, and will do the job for my RAV4), and, assuming I take care of it, should last.
