TL;DR An alkaline snow foam concentrate with thick, clinging foam confirmed safe on coated and waxed surfaces. Owners broadly report visible road-film lift and a clean, residue-free rinse. Scored at concentrate strength: the DANGER signal word means eye protection and gloves are required when pouring.
Polar Wash loads in a foam cannon at 1:8 to 1:15 (50:50 maximum per label) and produces a dense blanket that clings to vertical panels for 3 to 5 minutes. Owners describe visible grime suspension and lift during the dwell window. For very lightly soiled cars it delivers a touchless clean; heavier traffic film needs a wash-mitt follow-through. Rinse is clean in a single pressure-washer pass · no residue or glass haze reported across a large, well-reviewed owner base. The product is confirmed safe on coated and ceramic-treated paint; Autoglym states it will not strip previously applied waxes or sealants.
Right for foam-cannon users who want thick-foam wash performance with documented coating safety and a large, well-reviewed owner base behind it. Skip it if the vehicle has heavy tar, iron fallout, or dried insect protein · those need a dedicated pre-treatment before the foam step.
The SDS covers the concentrate at pH 12.6 with a DANGER signal word from a serious eye damage classification. Eye protection and nitrile gloves are required when handling undiluted product. No respiratory hazard applies at foam-cannon outdoor use. Both surfactants carry aquatic toxicity at ingredient level; rinse water goes to storm drain.
Autoglym advises not exceeding 50:50 (concentrate to water). For foam-cannon pre-wash, most owners use 1:8 to 1:15 as a starting point and adjust to their equipment and soil level. A stronger mix (lower dilution ratio) will produce thicker foam but should not go past the 50:50 maximum on the label. Start at 1:10 and dial in from there.
Yes. Autoglym explicitly states the product will not remove previously applied waxes or sealants, and the owner base confirms safe use on ceramic-coated and waxed paint. This is a meaningful distinction from alkaline TFRs designed for stripping.
The DANGER signal word and serious eye damage classification apply to the concentrate at pH 12.6. Autoglym's pH-neutral marketing refers to the working dilution, but no SDS classification at working dilution exists to confirm this. When handling or filling the lance bottle with undiluted concentrate, eye protection and gloves are required. At the foam-cannon working dilution, the hazard profile is substantially lower.
On very lightly soiled vehicles it can deliver a touchless clean. For stubborn dirt and traffic film, Autoglym advises following up with a wash mitt or sponge. It is designed as the contact-wash step in the two-stage Autoglym Polar system · Polar Blast is the alkaline pre-wash soak, Polar Wash is the main foam-cannon wash.
