This product ranks #3 of 8 in Pre-Wash & Snow Foam.

TL;DR An alkaline snow foam concentrate that delivers thick cling and real grime lift at 1:10·1:21 cannon dilution. Part of P&S's Renny Doyle Double Black Collection; professional detailers cite the alkaline chemistry for loosening bugs and road film before the contact wash. The SDS carries a skin sensitizer classification (H317) · nitrile gloves are the practical call for regular use.
Load 1 part Frostbite to 10·21 parts water in the foam cannon bottle, apply to the whole vehicle, and dwell 4·6 minutes. Owners describe dense foam that holds on verticals while the alkaline formula loosens road grime and bugs. It doubles as a bucket shampoo at 1:128 for higher-cleaning-power hand washes. For tar or iron contamination, a dedicated decon step still applies. Community evidence supports meaningful grit reduction versus skipping the pre-wash step.
Right buyer: foam cannon users tackling moderate-to-heavy soils, winter road salt, or long-interval washes. Skip it for weekly maintenance on freshly sealed or waxed paint · a pH-neutral shampoo is the lower-risk choice for that routine.
The SDS WARNING signal word reflects skin irritation (H315) and a skin sensitizer (H317) classification. The sensitizer means repeated skin exposure can develop into an allergic reaction over time · gloves are a practical precaution. Eye splash protection is reasonable during cannon application. Two surfactants carry ingredient-level aquatic toxicity ratings, reflected in the environment score.
P&S labels the cannon ratio at 1:10 to 1:21 concentrate-to-water in the foam cannon bottle. Most owners use toward the 1:10 end for thick foam and heavier soils, and stretch toward 1:21 for maintenance washes. For a hand-wash bucket, the label specifies 1:128. Start at 1:10 and adjust based on your cannon, pressure, and desired foam density.
The concentrate pH is 9.5, which is alkaline but not in the range that strips modern ceramic coatings or synthetic sealants at the labeled 1:10·1:21 cannon dilution. The product page explicitly states it is safe for all paints, coatings, wraps, and finishes. No community reports of stripping at the labeled dilution exist in the owner review base.
Yes. The SDS classifies this formula with H317 (skin sensitizer Cat 1) at the product level, driven by the trace citral fragrance component at less than 0.01%. This means nitrile gloves are recommended during regular use, particularly when handling the concentrate. The skin sensitizer classification is a real GHS hazard · it means repeated skin exposure can trigger an allergic reaction in some individuals over time.
Frostbite is the higher-alkalinity pre-wash in the P&S lineup · intended for the foam cannon pre-soak step before a contact wash. Pearl is P&S's pH-balanced maintenance shampoo designed for bucket washing without stripping protection. Use Frostbite when you want a pre-wash dwell to loosen contamination; use Pearl for the contact wash step, or when you want a maintenance wash that preserves wax and coating protection.
