MyFAK PRO IFAK Trauma KitScore7.4*/10
Piece count is the number on the box. What is actually inside, and whether a tourniquet in the kit can be verified as genuine, is the number that matters. We score 12 kits on both.
A first aid kit's piece count is mostly bandages, wipes, and packaging, so two kits with very different totals can cover the same seven minor-injury scenarios: cuts, burns, sprains, environmental exposure, and the rest. What separates them is tier. A basic kit handles those everyday scenarios and stops there, with no tourniquet, no hemostatic gauze, and no chest seal. A trauma or IFAK kit adds gear built for severe bleeding, and that gear is only worth having if it is genuine: a tourniquet that has not been authenticated, or an "IFAK" label on contents that are actually basic-tier, is a kit that looks more capable than it is.
So which first aid kit should you buy? Start by deciding which tier you actually need, since a bigger piece count does not mean a higher tier. Most of the kits scored here are honest basic-tier kits with no trauma claims, several with named gaps in what they cover (no antihistamine, no burn gel, or no pain reliever packets, depending on the kit). One kit in this category is a genuine trauma-tier IFAK with an authenticated hemostatic gauze and a tourniquet confirmed as a real product from its named manufacturer. Two others include a tourniquet CCT could not authenticate from the available product imagery, which is a meaningfully different thing from a confirmed one. A "FDA Approved" badge on one listing's product imagery is a marketing claim, not a verified registration, so read what a kit's contents actually are rather than what its cover promises. This page does not tell you what to do with any of it. It tells you what tier you are actually buying.
