Cerakote

Cerakote is best known in the firearms world for its proprietary ceramic finishes. The automotive consumer line is a different product family — water-based SiO₂ ceramic coatings sold under the "Rapid Ceramic" branding for both paint and glass. The glass coat product is one of the easier consumer kits to apply (single-step spray-and-buff) and has broad availability through Amazon and Walmart. The chemistry is water-based with low solvent carrier — significantly milder than alkoxysilane wipe-on coatings. Durability claims are typically 1–2 years, with community follow-up confirming 6–12 months on a daily-driven windshield.
