Acura Legend Both Generations (KA1-KA8)

19861995 · KA1-KA8 · sedan

The Legend was Acura's launch vehicle for the 1986 model year and ran through 1995. First gen (1986-1990, chassis KA1-KA6) used the 2.5L C25A V6 and later the 2.7L C27A V6. Second gen (1991-1995, chassis KA7 sedan and KA8 coupe) used the 3.2L C32A V6 rated at 200-230 hp depending on year and trim. The model was succeeded in the US by the Acura 3.5RL for 1996.

Watch out: Owner reports of timing belt service is the cardinal maintenance item on the C-series V6 (interference engine); a missed service is a destroyed engine. Power antenna and climate-control LCD failures are common age-related issues. Survivor counts are dropping, parts for trim and interior pieces are getting hard to source.

Full clubhouse — owner Garage Lineage, common problems, year-by-year notes, and product picks — is on the build list.
