The Standard Waffle-Weave uses a 370 GSM waffle pattern with an overlocked stitched edge — a budget-friendly construction compared to the Diamond Weave or FTW twist-loop options. The waffle pattern works well on exterior glass and mirrors; the Diamond Weave and FTW are purpose-built glass towels with finer construction for the hardest interior windshield work.

The waffle-weave construction handles interior glass cleaning. For the most demanding interior windshield work under direct morning sun — where a raked surface reveals every smear — dedicated glass towels with finer weaves (like TRC's Diamond Weave) have more documented interior-windshield confirmation in detailing communities.

Machine wash cold, no fabric softener — fabric softener coats microfiber fibers and eliminates their ability to pick up residue. Wash separately from paint or wheel towels to prevent cross-contamination from wax, silicone, or tire dressing.

For glass, lower GSM and a waffle construction are advantages — heavy pile on a drying towel redistributes liquid across the surface rather than lifting it. The 370 GSM waffle creates pockets that trap residue; a 1000 GSM plush towel on glass often leaves more smear than it removes.

The 16×16 format is preferred for interior work where you need to fold and maneuver into lower windshield corners. The 16×24 covers more area per pass on exterior glass, useful for quick wipe-downs on larger windows and rear glass.
