CarCareTruth's Analysis
Last reviewed May 25, 2026
TL;DR 6-ton-per-pair ratchet-style stands with a secondary removable safety pin. The only certification claim cites ANSI/PALD — a forklift and material-handling standard, not the applicable automotive jack-stand standard (ASME PASE) — so the load rating is self-asserted with no applicable independent certification confirmed. No active CPSC recall on the JZ060 as of 2026-05-24. The 16-inch minimum saddle height suits trucks and large SUVs; low-clearance passenger cars will not fit.
What it is and how it performs
The Omega Lift JZ060 is a 6-ton-per-pair (12,000 lb combined) ratchet-style jack stand sold as a pair by Shinn Fu Company of America Inc. under the Omega Lift Equipment brand. The primary height-holding mechanism is a cast ductile iron ratchet bar with a sawtooth rack; a secondary removable safety pin passes through the ratchet bar housing and is retained by a chain and split ring, providing a genuine independent backup. Amazon feature bullets describe the ratchet bar material as "high quality cast ductile iron." The listing claims "Meets Or Exceeds ANSI/PALD Standards" — PALD (Portable Automotive Lifting Devices) is a standard for forklifts, scissor lifts, and material-handling equipment, not for automotive jack stands; no ASME PASE mark or third-party test lab documentation was located. Saddle height adjusts continuously from 16 to 23.5 inches. The wide pyramid foot base uses an A-frame construction visible in product imagery; 883 Amazon reviews at 4.7 stars show no tip-over or locking failure reports. Community reviewers describe the stands as "extremely sturdy, hefty, and made of good quality — thicker, wider and taller than your average stand." One verified-purchase reviewer (March 2021) noted the minimum height is too high for a 2010 Hyundai Sonata, confirming the JZ060 is sized for higher-clearance vehicles.
Who should buy this — and who should skip it
Right for heavy truck and large SUV owners who need 6-ton capacity and are comfortable with a ratchet-bar primary mechanism. The pyramid base and 16–23.5-inch height range cover standard DIY service on the rated vehicle class. Skip if the load certification matters — the ANSI/PALD claim cites a forklift standard; no ASME PASE or equivalent automotive-standard certification has been located for this model. Also skip for low-clearance passenger cars: the 16-inch minimum saddle height will not fit under most passenger-car jacking points. And skip if pin-style locking is a firm requirement — the ratchet bar is the primary mechanism regardless of the "dual locking" marketing language.
Safety and environmental impact
Jack stands are life-safety equipment. A stand that fails while a person is under the vehicle causes death or serious injury. The quality score covers the load certification and locking mechanism integrity for this model. No active CPSC recall covers the Omega Lift JZ060 as of the 2026-05-24 check date; the 2020 recalls (numbers 20-130 and 20-131) covered ratcheting stands sold under the Torin and Pittsburgh Automotive brand names only. The certification claim on this stand cites ANSI/PALD — a standard for forklifts and material-handling equipment — rather than the applicable automotive jack-stand standard (ASME PASE); the load rating is treated as a self-assertion only with no applicable independent confirmation. Never work under a vehicle supported only by a floor jack — jack stands are the primary safety device. Alloy steel and cast ductile iron construction means end-of-life recycling via standard scrap metal collection is available at most US facilities.
Frequently asked questions
Are these Omega Lift JZ060 stands covered by the 2020 CPSC ratchet stand recall?▾
No. The 2020 CPSC recalls (numbers 20-130 and 20-131) covered ratcheting jack stands sold under the Torin and Pittsburgh Automotive brand names by Harbor Freight — approximately 1.7 million stands total. Omega Lift Equipment (manufactured by Shinn Fu Company of America Inc.) is a distinct brand not named in either recall. No active CPSC recall was found covering the JZ060 as of the 2026-05-24 check date. Buyers should verify independently at cpsc.gov before purchase.
Is this a 6-ton or 12-ton jack stand?▾
6-ton per pair (12,000 lb combined). The Amazon listing contains a confusing mix of spec fields: the product title, feature bullets, and product label imagery all confirm 6-ton capacity, and Amazon verified-purchase reviewers explicitly explain that the 6-ton rating applies to the pair as a combined total. The 'Load Capacity: 12 tons' in the Amazon specification field appears to be a catalog error or metric misread. Each stand individually is rated for 3 tons (6,000 lb) of corner load.
What does 'double locking' mean on the JZ060?▾
The JZ060 uses a ratchet-bar primary mechanism (a cast ductile iron sawtooth rack on the inner post) for height locking, plus a secondary safety pin that passes through the ratchet bar housing as a backup. The 'double locking' and 'double locking pins' marketing language refers to these two locking elements — the handle lock (which releases the ratchet during height adjustment) and the mobility pin (a secondary through-pin retained by a chain). The primary mechanism is a ratchet-style design; the secondary pin provides genuine redundant backup.
Will these fit under a standard passenger car?▾
The minimum saddle height of 16 inches is higher than typical 2-ton or 3-ton stands. Amazon verified-purchase reviewers confirm the minimum height is too high for some low-clearance vehicles — one reviewer noted the stands would not fit under a 2010 Hyundai Sonata at the lowest position. The JZ060 is sized for light trucks, SUVs, and higher-clearance vehicles. If the target vehicle has limited ground clearance, verify the floor jack lift point height clears 16 inches before purchase.
Does the JZ060 have ASME PASE certification?▾
No. The listing claims compliance with ANSI/PALD standards — Portable Automotive Lifting Devices. PALD and PASE are different ANSI standards; the listing does not claim ASME PASE certification. No independent third-party test lab documentation was found for this model. 'Meets or exceeds ANSI/PALD Standards' as stated in the listing is a manufacturer self-assertion.

extremely sturdy, hefty, tall, and made of good quality
I found these to be extremely sturdy, hefty, and made of good quality. For a long while I was using some standard run-of-the-mill jack stands I bought from harbor freight/autozone.I felt like my safety is #1 priority and I wanted something that looks like it will survive a nuclear blast.1. My old ones are about half the size of these big boys. These stands are thicker, wider and taller than your average stand. They look and feel expensive.2. I could hardly lift my SUV off them ground with your standard run of the mill stands. This has been no problem with these new stands.3. The safety pin gives me assurance and eases my mind that I won’t be killed under my car today.Overral if you value you or your family’s safety - these are great stands. I don’t see any issues with the welds, and the overall quality like some one star reviews. I have used these already a handful of times with great success.
