MTM Hydro PF22.2 Foam Cannon

The PF22.2 is rated at 1,100–5,000 PSI and 1.4–5.3 GPM. Most home electric pressure washers fall at the low end of that range (1,600–2,000 PSI / 1.2–1.6 GPM). Community reports confirm the cannon produces foam at 1.4+ GPM, but thicker, slower-sliding coverage is reported at 2.0+ GPM setups. At the lowest electric-washer GPM, a foam gun (garden-hose-fed) may deliver better foam-to-effort results.

Both. The cannon connects via standard 1/4" quick-connect fitting, and an M22 adapter is included in the box. Most residential and professional pressure washers in North America use 1/4" quick-connect, so no additional parts are usually needed. MTM's proprietary fittings are standard for commercial-grade setups; the included fittings cover the large majority of home-detailer configurations.

The PF22.2 is the updated wide-mouth bottle version of the original PF22. The key change is the wide-mouth HDPE bottle (32 oz, quick-disconnect bayonet mount) versus the original narrow-mouth design, which improved filling and reduced spills. The brass valve body and Italian construction are shared across both generations.

Foam thickness is primarily driven by soap concentration and pressure-washer flow rate — not by the cannon alone. Community reports confirm thick coverage with most dedicated snow-foam soaps at 2.0+ GPM. Dial the soap-injection knob clockwise to increase soap draw. Opening the fan-pattern blades wide creates a broader pattern; narrowing them concentrates foam on a smaller area.

Multiple community long-term reviews on Autogeek and Detailed Image report 3–4 seasons of regular use without failure, citing the brass valve body as the durability driver. The HDPE bottle and bayonet fitting are the higher-wear components — replacement bottles and O-ring kits are available from MTM's parts network. Normal post-session rinsing with clean water significantly extends component life.
