The open-mitt shape has no separate thumb pocket · your hand slides in and the double-stitched elastic cuff holds it on, which most adult hands find secure. Mkobon does not publish the polyester/polyamide blend ratio, so the construction rests on the standard-chenille format rather than a documented spec.

The chenille loop construction is paint-safe in a normal two-bucket wash on daily-driver paint and maintained ceramic coatings, and there is no swirl-complaint pattern on record for the format. For paint-correction-fresh single-stage finishes or show-car paint that demands maximum grit clearance, a documented twisted-tendril premium mitt suspends grit further from the contact face and is the better tool for that specific job.

Machine wash separately on cold or warm without fabric softener, tumble dry low or air dry. Fabric softener permanently coats microfiber and destroys both water retention and grit-trapping ability · never use it on a wash mitt. Wash the mitts apart from cotton laundry that would shed lint into the chenille pile.

Don't use a paint-contact mitt on wheels. Iron particles, brake dust, and tar from wheels embed in the chenille and migrate to the paint the next time the mitt touches the body. Use a dedicated wheel mitt or brush for wheel surfaces, and keep the three mitts for paint · rotating them so each fully dries between washes.

The main practical value is rotation. Value-tier chenille flattens over its life faster than premium twisted pile, so having three mitts lets you swap in a fresh one when the first loses loft, use one strictly for lower panels where road film lives, and always have a dry backup. Spreading the wear across three mitts is the sensible way to run a value-tier multi-pack rather than wearing a single mitt to the knit.
