TL;DR NIOSH P100 half-mask respirator (TC-84A-6949 via GVS·Miller OEM relationship; unverified vs. cdc.gov as of 2026-06-04 · database outage) with two P100 filters included. Covers sanding particulate and weld fume; standard P100 configuration does not cover solvent vapor. Two sizes (S/M, M/L), low-profile GVS Elipse facepiece geometry, latex-free TPE.
The LPR-100 is a reusable half-mask elastomeric respirator manufactured by GVS as the Miller-branded version of the GVS Elipse SPR457. It ships with two P100 filters installed, rated for 99.97% particulate filtration (oil and non-oil based), appropriate for sanding dust, weld fume, and brake particulate. TC-84A-6949 is the GVS Elipse approval number; cdc.gov NIOSH CEL could not be queried on 2026-06-04 due to a persistent database outage. Two sizes (S/M, M/L) with thermoplastic elastomeric sealing surface. Upgrading to GVS SPR688 cartridges adds organic vapor coverage for solvent prep work.
Best for owners doing regular sanding, body filler grinding, weld prep, or brake dust work who want a reusable half-mask P100 from the start. For solvent vapor paint prep, pair it with GVS SPR688 OV/P100 cartridges. Skip it for occasional dust-only jobs · a single-use NIOSH N95 disposable is more economical for infrequent use. Negative-pressure respirators cannot achieve their rated seal on a bearded face; that applies to every tight-fitting respirator.
Health scores 8.5 · base 9.5 with a −1.0 deduction because TC-84A-6949 could not be confirmed against cdc.gov on 2026-06-04 (database outage). The reusable elastomeric facepiece generates materially less waste than disposable respirators; GVS SPR499/SPR688 replacement cartridges are landfill-bound with no documented take-back program.
The Miller LPR-100 is the Miller-branded version of the GVS Elipse P100 half-mask respirator, manufactured by GVS for Miller. The box confirms this and lists GVS part numbers. The facepiece geometry, filter mount, and TPE construction are identical. The Miller version comes in black rather than the GVS Elipse blue. Replacement P100 filters (GVS SPR499) and OV/P100 upgrade cartridges (GVS SPR688) are interchangeable between the two products.
Not in the standard configuration. The included P100 filters cover particulate (sanding dust, weld fume, brake dust) at 99.97% efficiency but provide no organic vapor protection. For solvent vapor from paint prep or lacquer work, upgrade to GVS SPR688 OV/P100 combination cartridges · the Elipse filter mount on the LPR-100 accepts them.
The LPR-100 carries a NIOSH P100 certification through the GVS·Miller OEM relationship. The underlying GVS Elipse facepiece holds TC-84A-6949. As of 2026-06-04, the cdc.gov NIOSH CEL database was experiencing infrastructure errors preventing direct verification · a persistent issue documented across multiple product builds since 2026-05-17. This record will be updated once cdc.gov is accessible.
No. Negative-pressure respirators cannot achieve their rated seal on a bearded face · this is a fitment fact that applies to every tight-fitting respirator, not a defect specific to this product. Users with facial hair that contacts the sealing surface should consider a loose-fitting PAPR for equivalent protection.
