Miller Electric has manufactured welding equipment in the United States since 1929 and is the dominant name in professional welding among North American fabricators and bodyshops. The brand's respiratory PPE line — helmets, auto-darkening shields, and the LPR-100 half-mask respirator — is designed specifically to integrate with the geometry of Miller's own welding helmets and Weld-Mask systems.

The LPR-100 respirator is a branded OEM product manufactured by GVS (Bologna, Italy), the maker of the GVS Elipse series. Miller's version is functionally identical to the GVS Elipse SPR457 in a black colorway, with the same proprietary Elipse filter mount and compatible GVS replacement filter ecosystem.
