This product ranks #1 of 4 in Glass Polish.

TL;DR Removes glass hazing, contamination, and water spots, and is well-reviewed on Amazon for restoring neglected glass. The manufacturer is explicit that this is not a wiper-scratch remover. Works with a polisher. Sold as EU SKU (G8408EU) on Amazon US.
This is an aluminium oxide abrasive slurry designed to clean and restore automotive glass, not to remove wiper arc scratches. It is well-reviewed on Amazon for bringing neglected windshields with years of buildup back to clarity. Apply with a foam or felt pad by hand or machine and wipe off; follow up with a glass cleaner, which the manufacturer recommends.
The right buyer is dealing with glass hazing, hard water spots, mineral deposits, or road film that glass cleaner cannot touch. Anyone trying to remove wiper arc scratches should skip it: the manufacturer states on the label this is not a scratch remover, and aluminium oxide abrasive lifts surface contamination rather than removing geometric glass defects. For wiper arc scratches, a dedicated cerium oxide compound is the appropriate tool.
The EU REACH SDS (2019) classifies H317 (Skin Sensitization Cat 1A) from the CMIT/MIT preservative at trace concentration (≤0.002%), and H319 (eye irritation Cat 2). SDS §8 specifies skin protection for prolonged contact; nitrile gloves block the isothiazolinone class per ASTM F739. No respiratory H-codes in SDS §2. H412 (aquatic chronic Cat 3) at mixture level is reflected in the environment score. No Prop 65 warning.
No · Meguiar's is explicit on the bottle label: 'This product is NOT a glass scratch remover.' The compound is formulated to remove hazing, contamination, and water spots · surface-level problems, not geometric scratches. For wiper arc scratches, a dedicated cerium oxide-based glass polishing compound is a better starting point.
Meguiar's positions it for hard-water spots, mineral deposits, and hazing · the feature bullets list 'deep cleans glass and removes water spots.' It is well-reviewed on Amazon for glass-clarity restoration. It does not remove wiper arc scratches: Meguiar's states on the label that this is not a glass scratch remover. Water spots and hazing are surface contamination the aluminum oxide abrasive can lift; wiper scratches are geometric defects that need a dedicated cerium oxide compound.
G8408EU is Meguiar's European-market SKU for the 8 oz Perfect Clarity Glass Polishing Compound, sold via Amazon US as an import. The formula is the same product; the EU designation reflects the labeling and SDS format (EU REACH) rather than a different formula. The ASIN B07CSYZBNN resolves to this gray-market EU SKU on Amazon US.
Yes · the product is well-reviewed on Amazon for machine use, though no dedicated forum documentation of pad type, OPM settings, or specific technique was found at time of research. The aqueous cream consistency is physically compatible with a glass-specific foam or felt pad on a polisher at low OPM. Meguiar's recommends working with its applicator pad for best results.
The EU REACH SDS (2019 revision, Meguiar's UK Ltd) classifies the product as WARNING with H317 (skin sensitization Cat 1A), H319 (eye irritation Cat 2), and H412 (harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects). The H317 classification is driven by the CMIT/MIT preservative at ≤0.002%. No DANGER signal word, no H318 serious eye damage, no H335 respiratory irritation, no Prop 65 warning.
The manufacturer recommends following up with a glass cleaner. The glass surface is clear after the polishing step, and a follow-up glass cleaner wipe is the standard procedure · it's a clean-up step, not a sign the product failed.
