TL;DR A universal trim-to-fit rubber 4-piece set in Tan — you cut to fit with scissors, not laser-scanned to your vehicle. The patented Carpet Claw cleat backing grips factory carpet in place of OEM anchor posts; the standard raised-lip channels are designed to draw water away from the foot area. The 4-piece configuration is Tan-only on Amazon; the historical Black 4-piece SKU now redirects here.
What it is and how it performs
A universal trim-to-fit rubber 4-piece set in Tan covering both front and rear floor wells, with molded scissors guides for cutting to vehicle dimensions. The Carpet Claw cleat array sits in place of OEM anchor posts — a friction-only retention system rather than a physical lock to factory hold-down points. The grooved channels and raised lip are designed to draw water away from the foot area. On-variant community evidence is thin: one 2005 Hyundai Sonata fitment confirmation in the cached sample. Product family aggregate: 21,876 ratings at 4.5 stars.
Who should buy this — and who should skip it
The right pick for buyers who want a 4-piece Tan rubber set at a value price point and whose vehicle doesn't have OEM anchor posts to lock into. Skip it if you specifically need a Black 4-piece set — that configuration is not currently sold on Amazon under this product family (only the 2-piece front-only Black set is available). Skip also if your priority is a confirmed-fit mat for a specific make and model; the universal trim approach leaves room for error at door sills and pedal areas, and on-variant community fitment evidence is limited to a single 2005 Sonata report.
Safety and environmental impact
No chemical exposure pathway — synthetic rubber is a passive accessory with no SDS. The rubber compound contributes microplastic particles through surface abrasion over the mat's life cycle; single-material construction is theoretically recyclable through specialty rubber channels but no Armor All take-back program exists. The Amazon listing carries a Prop 65 warning consistent with trace carbon black in rubber — not evidence of latex or PFAS, and no health deduction applies.
Frequently asked questions
What color is this mat set?▾
Tan. The 4-piece configuration of Armor All 78848 is only available in Tan on Amazon as of May 2026. The product family historically included a Black 4-piece variant (ASIN B00LTX7RPS, MPN 78840ZN), but Amazon now redirects that listing to this Tan variant — no 4-piece Black SKU is currently sold under the Armor All family on Amazon. If you specifically need a Black floor mat set from Armor All, the only current option is the 2-piece front-only set (ASIN B00LTX7UPA, MPN 78830) — a different configuration that covers driver and passenger floor wells but not the rear.
What material are these mats made of?▾
Synthetic rubber. The Armor All listing specifies 'Material: Rubber' and references 'tough polymer material' — there is no mention of natural rubber or latex. Heavy-duty automotive rubber mats at this price tier are typically synthetic compounds (SBR, EPDM, or TPE), so no latex allergen deduction applies. The health score is 9.5 (the accessory base — no chemical exposure pathway).
Do these mats fit my vehicle?▾
These are universal trim-to-fit mats — you cut them to size along molded guide lines with scissors. The listing claims compatibility with most cars, light trucks, SUVs, crossovers, and vans. Vehicle-specific corroboration in the current review sample is thin: one verified-purchase owner confirms successful fitment on a 2005 Hyundai Sonata without cutting. If you need a mat confirmed to fit your exact vehicle without trimming, a vehicle-specific option such as Husky Liners WeatherBeater or WeatherTech DigitalFit is a better match.
What is the Carpet Claw backing?▾
Carpet Claw is Armor All's name for the cleat array on the mat underside. Instead of OEM anchor posts that lock to the factory hold-down points, the mat uses an aggressive cleat pattern designed to grip factory carpet through friction alone. There is no anchor-post compatibility — buyers with vehicles that use a hold-down anchor system will not get a physical lock, only the cleat-based grip.
Why does the Amazon listing show a Prop 65 warning?▾
The Prop 65 warning is standard boilerplate for trace carbon black or trace metals in rubber compounds. It is not evidence of natural latex or a fluoropolymer (PFAS) stain treatment. The health score for this mat is 9.5 — no deduction applies because neither latex nor PFAS was confirmed in the Armor All spec for this product.

Great mats, definite recommendation.
First and foremost I want to tip my hat to Armor All for producing such a high quality piece of art such as this, for well under the price it's truly worth, and maintaining outstanding craftsmanship and quality you see in all of their products. Also, I purchased these at retail price and am in no way, shape or form being paid, or given, anything for this review. It's 100% honesty from the average joe consumer. There are a couple other no name brand auto floor mat manufacturers who you'll find browsing for this product on Amazon, eBay or just google, and as tempting as it may be to purchase their product at maybe $5-$7 cheaper than these, I would consider refraining from giving in to that temptation. Armor All is a brand I trust, as I purchase the shining products for my dash and other interior pieces, as well as the tire cleaner, along side black magic. It was a no brainer when I stumbled across these. I wanted something as close to the Weather tech mats my buddy has in his lexus isf, without having to fork over $100-$200 for a set. There was absolutely no cutting involved when placing these in my 2005 Hyundai Sonata.Upon opening the box and pulling these mats out by the hanger they're attached to, I was fairly blown away by how much material you're getting for such a bargain. The mats are of decent weight, fairly thick -- enough to keep me worry-free when it comes to spills and the constant wear these will endure with myself, family and friends constantly getting in and out of the car in the constant changes in precipitation here in oklahoma, as well as the ample amount of gravel and rocks that may make their way in -- and I know my carpet is protected. The bottom of the mat has not only sharp nipples that grab and stay, but they also have two sets of claws on the front mats that dig just a bit deeper to ensure the mats don't slip, all while refraining from causing any damage to the carpet beneath it. I purchased the black mats, so it was a given that before installing I'll be applying some armor all to these mats to give them a nice shine before placing them in my car. These beat any mats I seen and felt at both Walmart and the Auto parts stores: AutoZone, Advanced Auto, Oreilly's and NAPA.If you're on the fence about purchasing these over any other mats you find, I'd bet my last dollar you'll enjoy what these have to offer, and you'll be happy you saved some money
