75W-85 (Motorcraft Premium Synthetic Hypoid Gear Lubricant, WSS-M2C942-A)
Limited-slip differential. Friction modifier: +3.28 fl oz (97 ml) Motorcraft Additive Friction Modifier XL-3 (EST-M2C118-A) on limited-slip / electronic-locking axles. Use an LSD-rated gear oil or add the modifier — a non-LSD fluid can make an LSD chatter.
Rear axle. 5.5 pt (2.6 L) on the 2.7L EcoBoost (the 5.0L V8 manual lists the same 2.6 L as 2.7 qt). Synthetic lubricant does not require changing unless the axle is submerged in water.

Transfer case (4WD). Electronic Shift-on-the-Fly and Automatic 4WD (Torque on demand) both 1.5 qt (1.4 L). Takes MERCON LV automatic transmission fluid, not gear oil.
