What battery group size does your car take?

Pick your car and get the exact BCI group size it takes — the code that decides which battery physically fits the tray and reaches the cables. We cross-check it against the automaker's own battery chart and a retailer finder, so you buy one that fits and starts your car the first time, instead of guessing at the parts counter.

Battery questions

How do I find what battery group size my car takes?
Pick your year, make, and model above. For cars we've confirmed, you get the exact BCI group size — the standard code (like 48, 51R, or H6) that says which battery physically fits the tray and the cable reach. We confirm it against the automaker's own battery chart and a retailer finder, so it's cross-checked, not guessed. Your owner's manual is always the final word.
What is a BCI battery group size?
It's the industry standard code for a battery's physical size, terminal layout, and hold-down — set by Battery Council International. Two batteries in the same group (say both Group 48 / H6) drop into the same tray and reach the same cables, even from different brands. Buying by group is how you make sure the battery fits and the terminals line up. CCA (cold cranking amps) is a separate spec — see below.
Does the group size tell me the right CCA?
No. The group is the physical fit; CCA (cold cranking amps) is the starting power. They're independent. The factory battery has one CCA, but a stronger battery in the same group fits fine and is usually a safe upgrade. We show the OE-minimum CCA as a 'choose at least this' floor, never as a verified number — because the right CCA is a property of the battery you pick, not a fixed fact about the car.
Do electric cars have a battery group size?
Their 12V auxiliary battery does — and it still matters, because a dead 12V will leave an EV unable to start even with a full traction pack. Older EVs use a normal lead-acid 12V with a BCI group. But many newer EVs switched to a small lithium 12V auxiliary pack with no standard group, which is a dealer or service part. We tell you which case your EV is in.
