First-generation Tiguan on the PQ46 platform. 2.0T (200 hp) in the US — no diesel offered in NA Tiguan. The original Tiguan was sold in the US through 2017 model year, and a 2018 'Tiguan Limited' trim continued the first-gen body sold alongside the new second-gen for one transition year. Compact compared to current Tiguan.

Watch out: 2.0T engine: same timing-chain tensioner and carbon-buildup concerns as Mk5/Mk6 GTI of the era. Water pump replacement around 80k-100k miles is expected. Haldex 4Motion AWD fluid service every 40k often neglected.
