Mk8 GTI on MQB-Evo. EA888 Gen 4 2.0T at 241 hp. Available manual in early years (2022-2024 in some markets); 7-speed DSG. The Mk8 is the first GTI with extensive touch-capacitive controls in place of physical buttons — a widely criticized choice that has been partially reversed in the Mk8.5 facelift (2025+). Chassis tuning remains highly regarded.

Watch out: Software-related infotainment bugs and HVAC touch-controls have been the major Mk8 complaints. EA888 Gen 4 is too new for long-term carbon-buildup data; expect similar service intervals to Gen 3. DSG service interval unchanged.
